Slow
Start
Adjustment (R
112 &
R113)
1.
Set the
POWER
switch to
ON,
and
open
the
centrifuge lid.
Install
an
H-1000B
Rotor
with
buckets.
Close
and lock lid.
2.
Make
sure
Rl 12
(Delayed
Start)
and
Rl
13
(Acceleration
Rate) are
turned
fully
clockwise.

NOTE
Make
sure
that
no
fault
conditions
exist.
Unlock and relock
the door to
reset
any
faults.
Then,
set
the
timer to
any
position
other
than OFF.
Turn
the
speed
control knob
to
a position
other than
OFF.
Rotor should
not turn
immediately. Turn
speed
control knob
to
OFF. Adjust
Rl 12
(Start
Delay Adjust)
counterclockwise
in
Increments
until
rotor just starts to
turn
after the
speed
control knob
is
turned
on.
Repeat
this
step
until the
rotor starts within
2-5
seconds after the
speed
control knob is turned
on.

(acceleration
rate) counter¬
clockwise
to obtain
a
smooth
start.
The transition
from
slow acceleration
to
normal
acceleration
(~500
rpm)
should
occur
in
less than
15
seconds.
5.
If
necessary,
readjust
Rl 12
(Delayed
Start)
to
reduce
the initial
delay
in
rotor
motion to
2-5
seconds.
Calibration
of Absolute Maximum
Speed
Circuit
(R121)
1. Open
the
centrifuge lid.
Install
an
H-1 OOOB
rotor
and
fully load
the
buckets. Make
sure
the
buckets
swing freely.
Close
and
latch
the
lid.
2.
Plug
the
frequency
meter
into
thejack
that is
located
on
the
back
of
the
centrifuge.
Make
sure
that
R44
(Minimum
Speed)
is
turned
fully
counterclockwise
and that
R47
(Maximum
Speed)
is
turned
fully
clockwise.
3.
Set
speed
control
knob
to highest
speed
setting
and initiate
run.
After the
motor
speed
has
stabilized, adjust
R121
(Absolute Maximum
Speed)
to
obtain
a speed
of
3400
±200
rpm
(as
measured
on
the
frequency
meter);
turning
R121
counter¬
clockwise
decreases
speed.
Allow
20-30
seconds for the
speed
to stabilize.
