Delayed Start Adjustment
(R60):
NOTE
Make
sure
that
no
fault conditions
exist.
Unlock and relock the
door to reset
any
faults. Then, set
the
timer to
any
position
other than OFF.
Turn
the
speed
control knob
to
a
position
other
than
OFF.
Rotor should
not turn
Immediately. Turn
speed
control
knob back
to
OFF. Adjust
R60
(Start
Delay
Adjust)
counterclockwise In
increments
until
rotor just
starts
to
turn
after the
speed
control knob
is turned
on.
Repeat
this
step
until the
rotor
starts
within
2-5
seconds
after the
speed
control knob is turned
on.
4.
Acceleration Rate Adjustment (R8G):
Adjust
R86
(acceleration
rate) counter¬
clockwise to obtain
a
smooth
start.
The
transition from slow
acceleration to
normal acceleration
(~500
rpm)
should
occur
in less
than
15
seconds.
5.
If
necessary,
readjust
R60
(Delayed
Start) to
reduce
the
initial
delay
In rotor
motion to
2-5
seconds.
6.
Set
the
power
switch
to OFF.
Calibration
of
Absolute
Maximum
Speed
Circuit
(R79)
^
1.
Set
the
POWER
switch
set to OFF.
and
unplug
the
centrifuge
power cord.
2.
Open
the
centrifuge
lid. Install
an
H-
1000B
rotor
and fully load
the
buckets.
Make
sure
the
buckets
swing
freely.
Close and latch the
lid.
3.
Plug
the
frequency
meter
into
thejack
that
is located
on
the
back of the
centrifuge.
Make
sure
Rl
(Minimum
Speed)
is
turned fully
counterclockwise and
R2
(Maximum
Speed)
is turned
fully clockwise.
4.
Set
speed
control knob
to
the
highest
speed
setting
and
initiate
a
run.
After the
rotor
speed
has
stabilized,
adjust
R79
(Absolute Maximum
Speed)
to obtain
a
speed
of 3400 ±200
rpm
(as measured
on
the
frequency meter); turning
R79
counterclockwise decreases
speed.
Allow
20-30
seconds
for the
speed
to stabilize.
5.
Connect
the
digital
voltmeter
between
TP8
and
ground
(TP
1).
Adjust
R94
on
the
Control
P.C.
Board
to
obtain
a reading
ofX
±0.01
Vdc,
where
X=
(speed
+ 1000)
+
2.5.
For
example,
at
3400
rpm,
the
reading
should
be
5.9
±0.01
Vdc
([3400 +
1000] +
2.5
=
5.9).
Turning
R94
counterclockwise
decreases
voltage.
(NOTE:
Obtain
the
speed
from
the
frequency
meter
attached to
the
test
Jacks
on
the
back
of
the
centrifuge.)
Calibration of
Minimum/Maximum
Speed
Circuit
(Rl
&
R2)
1.
Make
sure
that
Rl
(Minimum
Speed)
is
turned
fully
counterclockwise and
R2
(Maximum
Speed)
is turned
fully clockwise.
