Centrifuges
To
replace
the
motor:
1.
Install
optical
disk
and Optical
Pick-Up
P.C.
Board
Assembly on
top
of
new motor.
2.
Attach
motor mounting
plate
to
motor,
ensuring
the
orientation
is
correct.
The
wire
harness
on
the
motor
should be directly
above
the
motor
spring
arm on
the
motor
mounting
plate
(see
figure
5-13).
3.
Attach the
drive
belt
to
the
motor
pulley,
observing
the
precautions
noted
in
paragraph
5-28.
Step
9.
4.
Position the
motor
assembly
so
that
the
motor
spring
arm on
the
motor mounting plate
Is
nearest
the
evaporator (bowl).
5.
Make
sure
the
three
plastic washers are
in
place
on
the
motor mounting
studs,
then
set
the
motor on
the
studs.
This
ensures motor
assembly
will
rotate
smoothly over
drive
plate
and belt
switch
(SW5)
on
drive
plate
will
be
tripped
if
belt
breaks.
6.
Replace motor
mounting
plate
hardware
but
do not tighten
the
nuts
(see figure
5-14).
7.
Replace
the
tension
spring.
8.
Adjust tension
on
the
drive
belt
(paragraph
5-29).
9.
Secure
the
motor
mounting nuts.
10.
T6000(B)
Centrifuges
with serial
numbers lower than
9101800
only:
Install the
two
pieces
of
motor
shroud
around
the
motor, securing
them
in
place
with
the
hardware
retained
during disassembly.
11.
Calibrate
speed
control
with the
new motor
(see
Section
7.
8.
or
9
as
appropriate).
