the
motor
cables

Remove
the
screw
and star washer
that
secure
the
ground
wire
to
the
top
of
the
motor
(other end
of
ground
wire remains attached to
base).

Pick-Up
Printed
Circuit Board
Assembly,
PI
2,
(one screw)
and
optical
disk
from
top
of
motor.

T6000(B)
Centrifuges
with
serial
numbers
lower than
9101800
only:
Remove
the
motor
shroud
as
follows:
a.
Remove
the
two
screws
securing
the
two sections
of
shroud
together.
b. Then.
from the
back
of the
instrument remove
the
two
screws securing
the
top
section
of
motor
shroud
to
grill.
c.
Remove
the
two
pieces
of
motor
shroud. Retain
shrouding
and hardware for
reassembly.
7.
Release tension of the drive
belt
tension
spring
on
motor mounting
plate
and
remove
the
spring
from
motor.
8.
Remove
the
three
mounting
nuts,
springs,
and
washers on
the
motor
plate.
(Figure
5-14
illustrates
the
position
of the
parts
for
reassembly.)
9.
Remove
the
motor,
with
mounting
plate
attached, from
the
centrifuge.
While
removing
the
drive
belt from
the
motor,
maintain tension
on
it with
a
rubber
band
or
similar
object
so
it will
stay
on
the
gyro.
10. Remove
the
three
screws securing
the
motor to
the
mounting
plate,
noting
the
orientation
of
the
motor
for reassembly:
the
wire harness
on
the
motor
should be
directly
above
the
motor
spring
arm on
the
mounting
plate.
It
is
important to note
the
orientation
so
the
motor
can
be
properly
reinstalled in
a
later
step.
