Centrifuges

Set
the
POWER switch
to
OFF
and
unplug
the
centrifuge
power
cord.
3.
Remove
the four screws (and grounding
lockwasher)
that
secure
the
access panel
to
the
centrifuge frame,
and remove
the
panel.
NOTE
Refer to
figure
5-18
for
parts
location.
Retain
all
hardware for
reassembly,
unless otherwise
advised.
4.
Release
the tension
on
the
drive
belt
by
loosening
the
nuts
on
the
retaining
hook
and twisting
the
motor.
5.
Lift the
plastic
cap
Inside
the
rotor chamber,
and
remove
the black rubber
gyro
seal
and
the
foam
insulating
ring.
6.
Remove
the three
mounting
screws
and lockwashers
that
secure
the
gyro
assembly
to
the
drive
plate.

remove
the
nut
securing
the imbalance
detector to
the Imbalance detector
bracket.
8.
Slowly
lift
the
gyro
assembly
while
maintaining tension on
the drive
belt.
When
the
gyro
assembly
has been
lifted
sufficiently,
grasp
the drive belt
and continue
to
hold the
tension.
Secure
the
drive belt
to
the
lip
of
the chamber
opening
using
a
formed
paper
clip.
Remove
the
gyro
assembly.
