NOTE
Depending on
the
centrifuge
serial
number,
the
pulley
may
be
secured
by
either
a
Trantorque®
keyless
machine mount
or
set
screws.
1.
From
the
bottom
of the
gyro
assembly
remove
pulley as
follows:
I/the
pulley
is secured
with
a
Trantorque*
keyless
machine
mount:
a.
Securely tighten an
adjustable wrench onto
the flats of the
gyro
shaft
(above
the
plastic
cap)
to
keep
it from
turning.
Then
place
a
5/8
inch
open-end
wrench onto
the flats of
the TRANTORQUE.
Turn
the
wrench to
release
the
TRANTORQUE.
b.
Remove
and discard
TRANTORQUE
and
pulley.
If
the
pulley
is
secured
with
set screws:
a.
Remove
the
set
screws
using a
5/64 inch Alien
wrench.
There
may
be
four
set
screws
(two in each
hole)
securing
the
pulley
to
the
shaft.
NOTE
If
the
set screws can not
be removed
using an
Alien
wrench, use a
heat
gun
(or propane
torch) to heat
the
pulley
to
loosen
the
Loctite*
adhesive se¬
curing
the
set screws
in
place.
b.
Remove
and discard
pulley
and
set
screws.
2.
Lift
the
plastic
cap
up
(located
on
the
top
of the
gyro
assembly)
then
release
the
snap
ring
using
snap
ring
pliers.
3.
Lift the
gyro
cartridge
assembly
straight
up
and
out
of the
gyro
housing.
Discard
the
gyro
cartridge
assembly.
NOTE
If
the
cartridge assembly cannot
be
pulled out
of the
gyro
housing,
lightly
tap
the shaft
using a
plastic
mallet
to loosen
the
cartridge
assembly.
4.
Check the inside of the
gyro
housing
for
brass shims. Remove
and
discard
all
shims
since
they are
not required
for installation of
gyro
cartridge
assembly,
PN
07886.
5.
Carefully
insert the
gyro
cartridge
assembly,
PN
07886, into
the
gyro
housing.
