Reinstall
the
Optical
P.C.
Board and
the
optical disc.
5.
Install
a
single
groove
drive
pulley
(Cat
No.
07727), onto
the
motor
as
follows:
a.
Place
the
woodruff
key (Cat. No.
64877)
Into
the
slot
on
the motor
armature
shaft.
b.
Hold the woodruff
key
In
place
with the
single groove
side
of the
pulley
away
from the
motor
(figure 5-10),
then
slide the
pulley
over
the
key
and onto
the
motor
armature
shaft.
c.
Use
the
side
of the
pulley
height
gauge
(Cat. No.
07831) marked
MOTOR
to
measure
the
correct distance between
the
motor
and
pulley.
Apply
Loctlte*
adhesive
(Cat. No.
65811)
to
the
two set
screws,
then
tighten
the
screws
to
secure
the
drive
pulley
in
place.
6.
Check the
gyro
pulley
to
see
if
It
has
a
single
groove
or
double
groove
(figure 5-8).
If
the
pulley
has
a
double
groove,
remove
the
pulley
and
replace
It with
a
single
groove pulley
(Cat.
No.
07727).
To
replace
gyro
pulley:
a.
Remove
the
gyro
pulley
by
loosening
the
two set
screws.
Use
a
propane
torch
to heat the
gyro
pulley to
loosen
the
Loctlte*
adhesive,
if
necessary.
b.
Place
a
single
groove
drive
pulley.
Cat. No.
07727.
onto
the
gyro
shaft with
the
single
groove
side of the
pulley
positioned
toward the
gyro
(figure
5-10).
c.
Apply
Loctlte*
adhesive
(Cat.
No.
65811)
to
the
two set
screws.
d.
Use
the
side
of the
pulley
height
gauge
(Cat. No.
07831)
marked
GYRO
to
measure
the
correct distance between the
gyro
and
the
pulley.
While
rocking
the
pulley
back
and
forth
on
the
gyro
shaft, alternately tighten
the
two
set
screws so
that
each
screw seats
properly
on
the flat of the
gyro
shaft
(figure
5-11).
7.
Line
up
the
scribe marks
on
the
end
bell
and
the
motor
mounting plate
(11);
tighten
the
three
mounting
screws.
8.
Make
sure
each
motor
mounting
stud
has
a
nylon
washer
on
it,
then
position
the
motor
mounting
plate
(with
motor)
on
the
three
studs.
NOTE
Position
the
motor
mounting
plate
so
that the
drive
belt
tension
spring
can
be
reconnected
to
it
(figure
5-12).
9.
In
sequence,
place a nylon
washer, a
metal flatwasher,
a
spring,
another
metal
flatwasher,
and
a
nut
on each mounting stud
(see figure
5-14)
and finger-tighten.
