5.
Turn
the
gyro
shaft clockwise to
check that the
drive belt
did
not
get
twisted
during
installation.
The
motor
should
rotate clockwise also.
Reach under
the
sides
of
the
drive
plate
and
check
to make
sure
the
drive
belt
is
in
the
groove
of the
motor
drive
pulley
and
gyro
pulley.
6.
Reposition
the
motor
to its
original
location
by
twisting
it
clockwise.
7.
Adjust
the
spring
tension on
the drive
belt
using
the
spring
tension
gauge
(PN
07650)
as
shown in
figure
5-13.
Loosen
the
locking
nut.
Tighten
or
loosen
the
adjusting
nut on
the
retaining
hook
to
obtain
proper
tension
(25-30
Ib). Tighten
the
locking
nut.
8.
Check to
make
sure
the
drive belt
microswitch
SW5
(located against
the
motor
mounting plate)
did
not
trip
while
you
were adjusting
the drive
belt
tension.
If
it
has,
reset
it.
9.
Apply
Loctite"'1
222
adhesive to set
screw
(PN
68860)
and
thread
it
into
the
imbalance detector
top
bracket.
Check
to
make
sure
the
set
screw
is
properly
positioned above
the
imbalance detector
use
a
feeler
gauge
to
adjust
the
set
screw
so
that
there
is
a
1.1 mm
(0.045 +0.005/-0.000 inch)
gap
between
the
bottom of
the
screw
and
the
imbalance detector.
10.
Connect
the imbalance detector
cable,
P/J17.
11.
From inside the
rotor
chamber, replace
the
foam
insulating
ring
and
black
rubber
gyro
seal.

Perform
the
imbalance
calibration
procedure
(paragraph
7-2g,
8-2g,
or 9-2g).
13.
Replace
the
access
panel.
Secure
panel
in
place
using
the four
screws removed
in
Step
3
of
paragraph
b
(page
5-51). Be
sure
to
replace
the
grounding
lockwasher
to the lower
rear
screw.
