Imbalance Detector
Installation
NOTE
When
installing
the
imbalance detector (and
brackets)
supplied,
the
imbalance detector
will
be
positioned
opposite
that of the
imbalance
detector
removed.
1.
Install
the
Imbalance detector
mounting
bracket
(PN 07956)
as
follows:
a.
Place the
gyro
assembly
into
position
in
the
rotor chamber
to
properly
orient
the
imbalance detector
mounting
bracket for installation.
The
Imbalance
detector
top
bracket should be
positioned to
the
right
of
the drive
plate.
b.
Position
the
imbalance detector
mounting
bracket
parallel
to
the drive
plate.
Then, remove
the
gyro
assembly
and
set
it
aside.
c.
Using
the
Imbalance detector
mounting
bracket
as a template,
use
a
punch
or
similar tool to mark
the
position
of the
two
screw
holes
on
the
baseplate.
d.
Remove
the
imbalance detector
mounting bracket,
and
drill
two
6
mm
(1/4
inch) holes through
the
baseplate.
e.
Carefully
prop up
front
end
of
centrifuge to
allow
access
to
the
bottom.
Do
not
place
the
centrifuge on
its
side.
CAUTION
Do
not
place
the
RT6000
centrifuge on
its
side;
any
position
other than
upright can cause
compressor
contamination.
f.
From inside
the
rotor
chamber,
place
the
imbalance detector
mounting
bracket in
position
over
the
two
6
mm (1/4 inch)
holes.
From
underneath,
secure
the
imbalance detector
mounting
bracket to
the
baseplate
using
lockwashers
(PN
63019)
and screws
(PN 60231).
g.
Carefully lower
the
centrifuge onto
the
work
surface.
2.
Place
the
imbalance detector
(PN 07957)
into
the
recessed
cut-out in
the
imbalance detector
mounting bracket.
Be
sure
the
imbalance detector
is
properly
positioned.
3. Grasp
the drive belt
and
remove
the
paperclip
securing
it
to
the
chamber
opening.
Position
the drive belt
on
the
gyro
pulley.
Lower
the
gyro
assembly
into
position.

careful
to maintain tension
on
the
drive
belt.
4.
Turn
the
gyro
assembly
until the
Imbalance detector
top
bracket is
positioned over
the
imbalance detector.
Secure
the
gyro
assembly
with
the
three
mounting
screws
and lockwashers
removed
in
Step
7 of
paragraph
b
(page
5-51).
