Connect audio using a Tascam TDIF cable from the DTRS machine to the 328XD for digital transfer.
Connect BNC Wordclock cable for synchronization and MIDI cables for timecode and transport controls.
Configure the 328XD as the Wordclock Master, setting the internal sampling rate (44.1kHz or 48kHz).
Set digital inputs 17-24 to TDIF, configure wordlength (16-bit), and match the Sample Rate Flag.
Configure the 328XD for MMC control with DTRS, selecting Tascam DTRS, MTC timecode, and frame rate.
Set time mode to Abs, TDIF source to 24, and ensure 24-bit wordlength is configured.
Configure dithering to 'off' and frame mode to match the 328XD setting.
Set timecode output to digital, source to tape TC, and enable MMC/MTC.
Enable Fast MTC and Stop MTC for timecode transmission during wind and stop modes.
Ensure DA-88 boots correctly, receives external clock (WORD LED lit), and uses TDIF input.
Configure SY-88 board dip switches for MMC control, including switch 2, 5, and 6 settings.
Set control protocol to MIDI and enable remote track arming via menu #3.
