Overview

The LEXI IPL Permanent Hair Removal System (Model: LX-1917) is an over-the-counter, light-based device designed for permanent hair reduction on the body and/or face. It utilizes Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology to reduce hair growth with minimal pain by working below the skin's surface, without requiring any cutting or pulling. The device is intended for single-person use.

Function Description

The LEXI IPL system operates by emitting intense pulsed light, which targets hair follicles to inhibit future hair growth. The device is powered by an external adapter, and its IPL emission is activated by a finger switch. It incorporates a Xenon lamp as its energy medium and a skin sensor to ensure proper skin contact before emitting light pulses. If the device is not in full contact with the treatment area, it will not emit light pulses, enhancing user safety.

The device offers two primary operating modes: manual flash mode and auto flash mode. The default startup mode is manual flash. Users can switch to auto flash mode by long-pressing the flash button, which will be indicated by a specific icon on the LED display. In auto flash mode, the device flashes automatically, allowing for continuous treatment over larger areas. In manual flash mode, the device flashes once each time the flash button is pressed, making it suitable for smaller, more precise areas.

The LEXI IPL system features five energy levels, or "gears," allowing users to select the appropriate intensity based on their skin and hair types. The first gear provides the lowest energy, while the fifth gear offers the highest. The device includes an LCD display that shows the remaining flash count, the selected gear (flash intensity), the auto flash mode indicator, a temperature warning, and a cooling fan indicator. The initial flash count is 999,999, which decreases with each use.

Usage Features

Before using the LEXI IPL system, it is crucial to read the complete instruction manual to understand its operation and achieve optimal results. Users must first distinguish their skin and hair types using the provided table to determine suitability. The device is not suitable for individuals under 18, those with Fitzpatrick Skin Types V and VI, or those with red, gray, or white hair. It is also contraindicated for pregnant or lactating women, individuals with certain medical conditions (e.g., heart disease, malignant tumors, infectious skin diseases, hypercoagulability disorders), or those with skin problems like psoriasis, eczema, herpes, or open wounds. Sunburned or burnt skin should not be treated until fully recovered. Areas with tattoos, dark brown, or black spots (freckles, birthmarks, moles, warts) should be avoided. Users with active implants (pacemakers, neurostimulators, insulin pumps) or those taking photosensitizing agents, isotretinoin (Accutane/Roaccutane), or anticoagulation medications (including heavy aspirin use) should not use the device.

A skin sensitivity test is recommended before official operation. Users should try different skin areas with various energy gears and observe for any abnormal reactions after 6 hours. The device should be started at the first gear, and the intensity adjusted based on skin tolerance.

For operation, the skin in the treatment area should be clean and shaved (preferably 2 hours before use), free of cosmetics or skincare products. Users must wear protective glasses provided with the device and connect the power adapter. To turn on the device, a short press of the power button is required. The display and icon will light up, and the cooling fan will start. The gear can be selected by short-pressing the power button when the device is on.

For large areas like arms and legs, the auto flash mode is recommended. After selecting auto flash mode and pressing the power button, place the light-emitting area of the device fully in contact with the skin. Press the flash button, and the device will flash automatically. Slowly move the device along the skin after each flash, repeating the operation twice. The speed of movement should be adjusted according to the flash speed to ensure uniform coverage; the flash rate is faster at lower gears and slower at higher gears.

For small areas such as fingers or lips, the manual flash mode is suitable. After selecting manual flash mode and pressing the power button, place the light-emitting area of the device fully in contact with the skin. Press the flash button to flash once. Move the device to a new spot and press the flash button again. This operation can be carried out three to four times per area.

It is important not to flash the same spot twice in a row. The device has sensors that prevent flashing unless it is in close contact with the skin. The device will automatically shut down after 10 minutes of no operation. If the device temperature exceeds 55°C, an overheating protection feature will activate, displaying a red light warning. The red light will turn off when the temperature drops below 45°C. Mild reddening of the skin after operation is normal. It is recommended to avoid touching water within 6 hours after depilation and to moisturize the irradiated parts after 15 minutes.

The recommended hair removal cycle standard is: 3 times a week for weeks 1-3, 2 times a week for weeks 4-6, and once every two weeks or a month after the 6th week, depending on individual needs.

Maintenance Features

To ensure the best effect and longest service life, the LEXI IPL system should be cleaned before and after each depilation session to prevent the accumulation of hair and dust. Failure to clean the device regularly may impair its effectiveness.

Before cleaning, the device must be turned off and unplugged from the power source to allow it to cool down. The light-emitting treatment window should be wiped with a wet cloth or cotton swab. The device can be wiped down with 75% alcohol. It is important not to wash the product or its accessories under faucets or in dishwashers. Abrasive cleaners (like steel balls or toothpaste) or corrosive liquids (such as gasoline, engine oil, or acetone) should not be used to clean the product.

After cleaning, the device and its accessories should be stored in their original box in a dry and dust-free environment at temperatures between -20°C and 60°C.

The product comes with a warranty period, starting from the date of purchase. Quality problems caused by non-human factors during the warranty term are eligible for free repair. However, malfunctions due to abnormal use, force majeure, or unauthorized modifications are not covered. To claim warranty service, a valid purchase certificate (e.g., warranty sheet) must be presented. The warranty does not cover damage from fire, earthquake, third-party behavior, customer negligence or misuse, use under abnormal conditions, unpredictable events, incidental damage (loss of business interests, interruption of business, cost of replacing equipment), damage caused by methods not described in the manual, problems with accessories or substitutes not sold by the company, or failures due to improper storage (rodent damage, liquid infiltration).
