Overview

The SPACETALK device is a wearable technology designed to keep children connected with their parents and guardians, offering a blend of communication and safety features. It operates on 3G networks and requires a Nano-SIM card with voice calls, SMS, and at least 200MB of data per month for optimal functionality. The device is designed to be user-friendly for both children and adults, with a focus on simplicity and security.

Function Description

The primary function of SPACETALK is to facilitate communication between children and pre-approved contacts. This includes making and receiving calls, ensuring that children can only communicate with trusted individuals. The device does not have a keypad, which simplifies its operation for younger users and prevents accidental calls or messages to unapproved numbers.

A key safety feature is location tracking, which allows parents to monitor their child's whereabouts through the companion AllMyTribe app. This provides peace of mind by enabling guardians to see their child's location on demand or at set intervals. The device is designed to be worn on the wrist, making it easily accessible for the child and less likely to be misplaced.

The SPACETALK device integrates with the AllMyTribe app, which serves as the central control hub for parents. Through the app, guardians can manage contacts, set up safe zones, and configure various settings for the watch. This ensures that the device's features are tailored to the child's needs and the family's preferences. The app also allows for multiple users to share access to the device, meaning both parents or other guardians can monitor and communicate with the child. This sharing feature does not require an additional subscription, making it a cost-effective solution for families with multiple caregivers.

The device also includes a step counter, encouraging physical activity and allowing parents to track their child's movement. While not a primary function, it adds a health-monitoring aspect to the wearable.

Usage Features

To begin using SPACETALK, users must first select a compatible SIM provider. The device comes in different models, and the choice of SIM will depend on the specific model owned. Once a SIM card is acquired, it needs to be activated and recharged according to the provider's instructions. Since the device lacks a keypad, SIM activation and initial credit loading may require temporarily inserting the SIM into a mobile phone for voucher or coupon recharge methods.

Installing the SIM card involves powering off the SPACETALK, carefully removing a warning sticker and SIM card cover on the back of the watch, and then inserting the Nano-SIM according to the provided instructions. After installation, the SIM card cover is replaced, and the device can be powered on. Initial charging may be necessary.

The core interaction with SPACETALK for parents is through the AllMyTribe app, which is available for download on both Apple App Store and Google Play Store. After installing the app, users need to register an AllMyTribe account. The next step involves selecting a subscription plan, which varies based on the number of SPACETALK devices to be paired. Subscriptions can be purchased using Apple ID or Google Play accounts and can be cancelled at any time.

Pairing the SPACETALK watch with the app is a straightforward process. Users select "Add New Device" in the app, tap "SPACETALK Watch," and then enter the country code and phone number of the SIM card installed in the watch. A 6-digit pairing code will be sent to the SPACETALK device, which then needs to be entered into the app to complete the setup. This secure pairing process ensures that only authorized individuals can manage the device.

For secondary account holders who wish to access the SPACETALK device, they can download the AllMyTribe app, create their own account, and then select 'Add Device' to request sharing access. They will need to enter the phone number of the SPACETALK watch. The primary account holder will receive a notification and must authorize the secondary account holder's access to view the watch. This collaborative approach allows multiple trusted individuals to stay connected with the child.

Maintenance Features

Maintaining SPACETALK involves keeping its software up to date to ensure optimal performance and access to the latest features and battery life improvements. The device automatically checks for updates every few days if left on and charging overnight, installing any found updates automatically. Users can also manually check for updates by navigating to the "information" menu on the SPACETALK device, scrolling to the bottom, and selecting "System Updates."

Battery performance is a key aspect of device maintenance. The number of calls made and received, as well as the frequency of location updates, directly impacts battery life. To extend battery life, users can increase the location update interval in the Settings menu of the AllMyTribe app. Reducing the screen brightness level on the watch also contributes to better battery performance. The device is designed to work best with its "Location on Demand" function in combination with a longer update interval for general use.

Ensuring the SIM card has sufficient credit is also crucial for the device's functionality and battery life. If the SIM card runs out of credit, the device's ability to communicate and its battery performance will be affected. Regular checks of the SIM card balance are recommended.

Troubleshooting common issues is also supported. If the pairing code does not arrive, users are advised to check for network signal on the SPACETALK, ensure the SIM card is activated by the carrier and has credit, power off and on the device, or reset the watch through its settings menu. A reset may require a 4-digit PIN, which is the last 4 digits of the IMEI number found in the Information menu.

For additional support, users can visit the support section of the SPACETALK website for FAQs and troubleshooting tips, or contact customer support via email or telephone during business hours. This comprehensive support system ensures that users can resolve any issues they encounter, maintaining the device's functionality and reliability.
