How to troubleshoot Speed Queen SFET07 that won’t start?
    • M
      Mary GonzalezJul 30, 2025
Several factors can prevent your Speed Queen Dryer from starting. First, for nonmetered models, ensure the timer knob is turned further into the cycle. For metered models, insert coins or a card, activate the timer, and push the coin slide all the way in. If your dryer has a power cord, make sure it's fully plugged into the electrical outlet. Also, confirm that the loading door is completely closed and that you've pressed the PUSH-TO-START button or START pad. Finally, check that the laundry room fuse(s) isn’t blown or loose, or circuit breakers aren’t open. If none of these work, wait 10 minutes to allow the motor overload protector to cycle, then try again.

If your Speed Queen Dryer isn't heating, a few things could be the issue. For nonmetered models, ensure the timer knob is turned further into the cycle. For metered models, activate the timer and push the coin slide all the way in. Check that the laundry room fuse(s) isn’t blown or loose, or circuit breakers aren’t open. Make sure the controls are set to a HEAT setting. If you have a gas dryer, ensure the equipment and main gas line valve are turned on. Also, inspect the exhaust duct to the outside for any kinks, blockages, or the need for cleaning. Finally, check the weather hood to ensure the flapper moves freely and isn't blocked or pushed in.

What to do if Speed Queen SFET07 doesn’t dry clothes well?
    • J
      Joshua GrimesAug 9, 2025
If your Speed Queen Dryer isn’t drying clothes well enough, start by checking the exhaust duct to the outside to ensure it isn't kinked, blocked, or in need of cleaning. Also, inspect the weather hood to make sure the flapper moves freely and isn't blocked or pushed in. Make sure to clean the lint filter. Ensure the load isn’t too small. If you're drying heavy items with lightweight items, the heavy items will take longer to dry.

    • K
      Kirk EdwardsAug 13, 2025
If your clothes have an odor after drying in your Speed Queen Dryer, check the room for odors before drying, as any odor (like fried foods, paint, varnish, cleaners, or burning wood) will transfer to clothing as the dryer draws air from the room. Ventilate the room before drying clothes.

    • K

If your Speed Queen Dryer is making unusual noises, check it for any foreign objects like nails, coins, bobby pins, metal, or plastic toys, and remove them. Ensure the dryer is level. Normal operating sounds include the tick of the timer advancing, the heat source going on and off, and the sound of air moving through the dryer and exhaust system.
