7. Driver Operation of the Transmission
This part is important for the driver to know exactly how to operate his transmission to get the most
from it. If you are an agent, you need to print this part for the driver or explain to him what he can
select and how to change his profiles.
There are two hardware setups namely:
1. Shift buttons with Profile Switch which can select between 4 different profiles.
2. Shift buttons only which can select between 2 different profiles.
With each different profile the user can select the function of the buttons namely
1. Overdrive On or Off selection
2. Up or Down shifting of gears
If the Overdrive selection is used, the user can select if the TCU must start with the overdrive on or
off.
In each profile the user may also select which LED indication he prefers. Function mode or gear
mode.
With the 4 Way Profile Switch
This Option has a rotary switch with four positions. Each position has a complete new Tuning
Profile that is loaded into the TCU. With this feature the user can set different operational settings
for the TCU for different uses of the TCU like Automatic, Tiptronic, Towing, Racing, Off Road and
Low range for example.
It has two selection Push buttons which can be used for one of two options selectable between
profiles.
1. Selecting Automatic with or without the overdrive enabled.
2. Shifting gears up or down in Tiptronic.
Two function LED’s which can indicate one of two selectable functions.
