Why is my STA-RITE Swimming Pool Pump not pumping or has reduced capacity?
    • L
      Laura DrakeJul 26, 2025
Several factors can cause your STA-RITE Swimming Pool Pump to fail to pump or experience reduced capacity. It could be due to suction leaks, a clogged pipe, trap, or impeller, a worn impeller, electrical issues, or mechanical troubles. Ensure the pump is primed and the volute and trap are full. Check for suction leaks in the piping and ensure the suction pipe inlet is well below the water level. Also, inspect the suction trap gasket and replace it if defective. Make sure the suction trap is not clogged; if it is, clean the trap and strainer. Check the impeller for clogging.
