8. Replace Spark Plug
This engine uses a Torch L7RTC or NGR BPMR7A with 0.6-0.7mm
electrode gaps.
The spark plug should be replaced each year to ensure the engine
starts easier and runs better.
1. Loosen black thumb screw on cylinder cover. (Pic. 36)
2. Remove the cylinder cover.
3. Pull off the spark plug boot (Pic. 37).
4. Remove spark plug from cylinder and discard.
5. Replace with a new spark plug and tighten securely with a 3/4
inch socket wrench. Spark plug gap should be 0.025 inch
(0.6mm).
6. Reinstall the spark plug boot.
7. Reinstall the cylinder cover and secure with black thumb screw.
9. Replace Fuel Filter
To replace fuel filter, drain your unit by running it dry of fuel.
Remove fuel cap and its connected retainer from tank. Pull filter
from tank and remove from line. Replace and reassemble.

11. Carburettor Adjustment (Pic. 38)
WARNING: The chain will be moving during most of this
procedure. Wear your protective equipment and observe
all safety precautions. The chain must not move
at idle speed.
The carburettor is factory set and should not require adjusting. The
carburettor will permit only limited adjustment of the ”L (Low Jet)
and “H” (High Jet) needles. Any adjustment should be done by an
authorised service agent.
The carburettor has been carefully set at the factory. Adjustments
may be necessary if you notice any of the following conditions:
Chain moves at idle. See IDLE SPEED-T adjusting procedure.
Chainsaw will not idle. See IDLE SPEED-T adjusting
procedure.
Idle Speed-T
Allow engine to idle. If the chain moves, idle is too high. If the
engine stalls, idle is too low. Adjust speed until engine runs without
chain movement (idle too high) or stalling (idle too low). The idle
speed screw is located in the area above the primer bulb and is
labelled T.
Remove protective cover before adjusting then replace before use
Turn idle screw (T) clockwise to increase engine idle speed.
Turn idle screw (T) counterclockwise to decrease engine idle
speed.
