Filtration systems may not run dry (without water)! The water takes the coo-

The lter system’s pump is designed to ensure good protection against
foreign bodies and water spray. However, it should still be installed in such a
way to ensure adequate protection from the weather. NEVER service this unit
with the electrical power cord connected. RISK OF SUCTION ENTRAPMENT
HAZARD, WHICH, IF NOT AVOIDED CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR
DEATH. Do not block pump suction at the pump or in the pool as this can

Operation
The quartz sand used in the lter system’s tank provides long-lasting ltration of
dirt particles and oating debris. Dirty water is drawn from the pool via the suction
pipe through the lter pump and then fed directly from above through the 7-way
valve into the lter tank. As the water ows through the quartz sand in the lter tank,
dirt particles are deposited in the sand and thus ltered out of the pool water. The
puried water ows through the 7-way valve back into the pool via the return pipe.
For the operation of the lter system, you need a skimmer (surface skimmer).
Either an integrated skimmer (built into the pool wall) or a suspended skimmer
(attachment to the poolwall).
Filter sand requirements
■ Only quartz sand can be used with this lter system. The quartz sand must
comply with the DIN 12904 quality standard.
Positioning
The installation area you set between the skimmer and the inlet nozzle so, that
there is an adequate safety margin to the pelvic wall. We recommend putting the
lter system in addition on base plates (for example: washed concrete slabs etc.).
These have to be installed with the spirit level. Under no circumstances you may
put your lter system in a trough or directly into the grass (ood danger or risk of
overheating of the lter pump).
If you have sunk your pool partially or completely, so it makes sense to place the
lter pump in a lter slot, which should connect directly to the pelvis. Is your lter
pump housed in a lter slot, so it has to be insured, that the lter slot can’t be
slooded. For this purpose you should bring in a roller-burnishing (crushed rock) in
the range of the lter slot, so that the surrounding- and rainwater can seep away.
It would be ideal if there is a direct connection to the drain in the sump of the lter
shaft (or sludge pump, with automatic oating switch). It is important to ensure
that the lter slot should never be airtight, because this may cause damage, due
to condensation water, on the lter pump. The size of the lter shaft should be
selected so that work can be performed on the lter system.
Installation
Setup lter and pump (see g. 1 – 5)
In order to avoid damage to the lter tank or the bottom strainer, the lter tank
should be lled with 20 to 30 cm of water before pouring the sand.
Filling the sand lter chamber with sand (see g. 6)
Pour quartz sand into the sand lter chamber being careful not to allow any sand to
enter the ltered water chamber.
