JACKING
1. General
A. The S6 is raised at two points, one at each wing, and supported at the tail. The jack points are
located on the INNER wing bottom surface of each wing, in the spar area, near the separation
between inner and outer wing portions (Ref. Fig. 201). The position of the wing spar can be
determined by tapping gently in this area.
The tail support point is the beam bottom in front of the tail skid.
B. Jack or lift the aircraft by means of a suitable jack with an adapter that is positioned to the above
mentioned jack points. The adapter must have an area of at least 200 x 300 mm (9 in. x 12 in.) (the
longer side in direction of wing span). A plywood sheet of 50 mm (2 in.) thickness with a felt layer
of 15 to 20 mm (0.6 to 0.9 in.) thickness or a similar construction shall be used. The adapter must
be flexible attached to the jack so that it adapts to the wing contour and the wing is evenly
supported by the plywood plate.
The jack with adapter must be capable of safely carrying the aircraft weight and be sufficiently
stable. The supporting surface may not be slippery.
