TOWING
1. General
A. The aircraft may be moved by hand with a tow bar or by a towing vehicle. In the following, the
towing procedure is described.
2. Tools, equipment and materials Required

3. Towing procedure
CAUTION: DO NOT EXCEED THE NOSE GEAR TURNING ANGLE OF 20° EITHER SIDE OF
CENTER, OR DAMAGE TO THE NOSE GEAR OR MAIN GEAR WILL OCCUR.
CAUTION: NOSE WHEEL CAN BE TURNED ONLY IF WEIGHT IS APPLIED TO THE FRONT
SECTION OF THE PLANE. A PERSON SHOULD SIT IN THE COCKPIT OR
APPROPRIATE WEIGHT SHOULD BE PLACED INSIDE THE COCKPIT.
A. Towing by Tow Bar
The S6 is usually moved manually by means of a tow bar. The following technique should be
kept:
(1) Insert tow bar into the appropriate openings on the tow bar support attached to the nose
wheel tube.
(2) Remove wheel chocks.
(3) Tow the aircraft to the desired position.
(4) Install wheel chocks in front of main gear wheels.
(5) Remove tow bar.
B. Towing by a Vehicle
CAUTION: WHILE TOWING THE AIRCRAFT WITH A VEHICLE, A PERSON SHOULD BE
IN THE COCKPIT, IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO APPLY THE BRAKES IN THE
EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY.
MAKE SURE THAT THE TOW BAR IS PROPERLY CONNECTED TO THE
VEHICLE.
