1. Remove cover of cockpit middle console to get
access to aerotow release lever.
2. Clean aerotow release clutch E22 and check for
function and condition.
Pay attention to required TBO of aerotow release
clutch.
3. Lubricate aerotow release clutch as required.
4. Perform functional check of release mechanism
with original ring couple installed at clutch.
Check for free movement and required freerange at
release lever of at least 10 mm [0.39 in] to ensure
safe locking of release clutch.
5. Visually inspect bowden cable, cable thimbles and
hinges to front and aft attachment for damage or
deformations and installed locking.
Replace bowden cable and teflon cable mantle if
necessary (rough-running/damaged).
6. Inspect front hinge of bowden cable at center
fuselage tunnel next to aerotow release lever for
abrasion and wear of cable and bearing clamp.
Replace cable and/or bearing clamp if necessary.
7. Check aerotow release lever in the cockpit for tight
fit, free movement and correct adjustment of stop
plate.
8. Reinstall cover of cockpit middle console.
