What to do if my Sterilight Water Filtration System is leaking water?
    • A
      Amanda LewisAug 11, 2025
If your Sterilight Water Filtration System is leaking, consider the following: * Check the o-ring seal (on the gland nut and/or UV sensor). Ensure the o-ring is correctly placed, inspect it for cuts or abrasions, clean it, moisten it with water or a lubricant, and reinstall it. Replace the o-ring if needed (410867). * Condensation on the reactor chamber may be caused by excessive humidity and cold water. Check the location of the disinfection system and control the humidity. * Inadequate inlet/outlet port connections can also cause leaks. Inspect the thread connections, reseal them with Teflon® tape, and retighten.

Why does my Sterilight Water Filtration System have a pressure drop?
    • W
      Walter SimpsonAug 16, 2025
A pressure drop in your Sterilight Water Filtration System can be due to: * A clogged sediment pre-filter. Replace the filter cartridge with an appropriate 5-micron cartridge. Note that fluctuations may occur in source pressure, so check the source water supply. * The flow regulator. The flow regulator will result in a pressure drop when approaching full flow.

What to do if my Sterilight Water Filtration System lamp failure alarm is on with a blank display?
    • K
      Kristen ChaneyAug 20, 2025
If the lamp failure alarm is on with a blank display on your Sterilight Water Filtration System: * Check the connection between the lamp and the connector. Disconnect the lamp and reconnect it, ensuring a tight fit. * Moisture buildup in the connector may prevent a solid connection. Eliminate any chance of moisture reaching the connector and/or lamp pins.

What to do if my Sterilight Water Filtration System is shutting down intermittently?
    • W
      wheelerlarryAug 25, 2025
If your Sterilight Water Filtration System is shutting down intermittently, ensure the system is installed on its own circuit, because other equipment may be drawing power away from the UV (e.g., a pump or fridge). Also, the UV system should not be installed on a circuit incorporated into a light switch.

Why are there high bacteria counts in my Sterilight Water Filtration System?
    • L
      Lucas RodgersNov 6, 2025
High bacteria counts in your Sterilight Water Filtration System can occur for several reasons: * The quartz sleeve may be stained or dirty. Clean the sleeve with a scale cleaner and address the cause of the staining, such as softening hard water. * There might be a change in the feed water quality. Test the source water to ensure it's within the system's allowable limits. * Contamination could be present in the water lines after the UV system. Shock the effluent water stream with chlorine (bleach) before it exits the UV system. The disinfection system needs a bacteria-free distribution system to function effectively. * Sediment breakthrough from the pre-filter is possible. Test the source water for turbidity and consider stepped filtration, using a 20-micron filte...
