– Wash the foam filter element in a
standard commercial solvent-
based degreasant containing no
chlorinated or halogenated
hydrocarbons and dry, b 12.
– Replace the felt filter. As a
temporary measure, knock the
filter out on the palm of your hand
or blow clear with compressed
air. Do not wash.
– Replace any damaged parts.
Install in the reverse sequence.
– Fit the foam element in the filter
cover.
: Fit the felt element in the filter
housing ("INSIDE" must face
engine).

If you suspect a fault in the fuel

In the case of problems with the
carburetor or fuel supply system,
also check and clean or replace the
tank vent, b 9.5.
The carburetor can be tested for
leaks with the carburetor and
crankcase tester 1106 850 2905.
– Remove the shroud, b 5.1
– Disconnect the fuel hose from the
carburetor’s elbow connector
(arrow).

: Close the vent screw (1) on the
rubber bulb (2) and pump air into
the carburetor until the pressure
gauge (3) shows a reading of
approx. 0.8 bar.
