Why won't my Stihl FS 235 start?

  If your Stihl Trimmer's engine does not start, it might be due to insufficient fuel. Refuel the trimmer with the correct fuel mix. Another possibility is that the engine is flooded; in this case, clear the combustion chamber. Also, the carburetor might be too hot. Allow the trimmer to cool down, then depress the manual fuel pump bulb at least ten times before attempting to start the engine. Finally, if the carburetor is iced up, allow the trimmer to warm up to +10°C.

  The Stihl Trimmer engine might not start due to several reasons: * There may be insufficient fuel in the tank. In this case, prepare the correct fuel mix and refuel the trimmer. * The engine could be flooded. If so, clear the combustion chamber. * The carburetor might be too hot. Allow the trimmer to cool down, and before restarting, depress the manual fuel pump bulb at least ten times. * The carburetor could be iced up. In this situation, allow the trimmer to warm up to +10°C.

  If the cutting attachment rotates when the engine is idling, turn the idle speed screw (LA) counterclockwise until the cutting attachment stops rotating.
