tool or the charger.
N Store indoors in a dry and safe
location. Keep out of the reach of
children and other unauthorized
persons and protected from
contamination.
N Do not store spare batteries unused
– use in rotation.
To optimize the life of the battery, store
it at a state of charge of about 30%.

outlet.
N Store the charger indoors in a dry
and secure location. Keep out of the
reach of children and other
unauthorized persons and
protected from contamination.
Straightening Twisted Bristles
Twisted bristles can be restraightened
by heating them.
N Use a hair dryer to heat and
straighten the bristles.
Do not use a hot air blower, open flame
or burner for this purpose. Very high
temperatures will permanently damage
the bristles.
Lubricating the Gearbox
The gearbox should be lubricated from
time to time to maintain its normal
smooth action.
Only use the STIHL silicon spray
supplied with the machine. The use of
other lubricants may impair correct
operation of the gearbox.
N Stand the machine on end.
N Spray STIHL silicon spray onto the
gear drive through the openings in
the wheel housing.
Cleaning the Air Filters
N Remove the hopper.
N Pull both filters out of their guides.
N Take the foam element out of the
filter.
N Wash the foam element in water,
allow it to dry and refit it in the filter.
