Attach the brake band to the bell
crank.

Push brake band into the slot in
the crankcase.
Coat the screw with Loctite 243
see 14.
Fit the screw and tighten it down
firmly – see 3.5.

Turns of brake spring must be
tightly against one another in the
relaxed condition. If this is not the
case, replace the brake spring.
Check correct position of
protective tube:
a = 20 mm

b = 32 mm
Hook the brake spring to the bell
crank (arrow).

Use assembly tool (2)
1117 890 0900 to attach the
brake spring (1) to the anchor pin.
Fit chain brake cover.

Fit the side plate (2) over the
collar screws and push it against
the crankcase.
Fit the screw (1) and tighten it
down firmly.
Install the clutch drum/chain

sprocket – see 5.1.
Fit the bar, chain and chain
sprocket cover. Tighten down
nuts on the chain sprocket cover
see 3.5.
Check operation of chain brake
see 5.4.1.
