Push the retainer through the
handlebar to the outside and
remove.

Take out the screws (arrows).

Pry plug (1) out of the handlebar
to expose the annular buffer.
Pry the annular buffer out of the
handlebar.
Reassemble in the reverse
sequence.

Annular rubber buffers and a spring
are installed between the tank
housing and crankcase to minimize
vibrations. Damaged annular
buffers must always be replaced.
Removing
Remove the handlebar – see 9.1.
Fit an M6 screw (1) in the
bushing in the annular buffer (2).

Use the screw to pull out the
bushing (1).
Take the screw out of the
bushing.
