Stihl MS 440 - Removing the Air Filter; Cleaning the Air Filter

: Open the twist lock above the rear
handle and remove the carburetor
box cover.
HD Filter
: Pull off the filter.
Box Filter
: Set the Master Control lever to l
: Pull off the outer half (1) of the filter.
After cleaning the outer half of the filter
several times:
: Unscrew the slotted nuts (2) and
remove the baffle (3).
: Remove the inner half (4) of the
filter.
