Why does my Stihl Pressure Washer motor hum but not run when switched on?

  The Stihl Pressure Washer motor may hum but not run due to several reasons: the mains voltage may be too low or improper (check the electrical connection, plug, cable, and switch); the extension cord may have the wrong cross-section (use an extension cord with a sufficient cross-section); the extension cord may be too long (connect the machine without an extension cord or with a shorter one); the mains circuit-breaker may have been tripped (switch off the machine, actuate the spray gun until water only drips out of the head, engage the safety catch, reset the mains circuit-breaker); or the spray gun may not be actuated (actuate the spray gun when switching on the machine).

  If the engine of your Stihl Washer stops, it might be due to the motor overheating. Check whether the supply voltage and machine voltage match, and let the motor cool down for at least 5 minutes.

  Pressure fluctuations or drops in your Stihl Pressure Washer could be due to: - Shortage of water (open the water tap completely and comply with permissible suction lift if using suction mode). - A dirty high-pressure nozzle in the spray head (clean the high-pressure nozzle). - A clogged water intake strainer in the pump inflow (clean the water intake strainer). - A dirty water filter at the pump intake (clean the water filter). - A clogged nozzle (clean the nozzle). - A leaky high-pressure pump or defective valves (have the machine checked by a servicing dealer).
