Version 4.0 - February 1998; Update 11/06/01 2 - 5 U
STEP 2 - UNPACKING AND
INSPECTION
The Model 6DS-SP Planarizer is shipped from the factory vacuum sealed (to
prevent contamination during shipping) and fastened to a shipping pallet. Before
unpacking the machine from its shipping provisions, inspect the exterior
carefully for any indication of possible shipping damage. If such signs exist,
contact the shipper to report a claim and obtain additional instructions before
proceeding.
PREPARATION FOR INSTALLATION
1. Carefully remove the protective plastic cover.
2. The machine is attached to the pallet with lag screws fitted through
holes in the cabinet base frame. To access the lag screws:
Remove the lower service doors.
These include the left and right lower front, the left side, and
the lower right side service doors. Refer to the Cabinetry
section in the Physical Description chapter of this manual for
information on locating and removing the service doors.
3. Remove all lag screws to free the pallet from the machine.
Be sure the screws removed are lag screws embedded in the pallet
and not assembly mounting bolts or the leveling feet (described in
Leveling, below).
