PROCEDURE
A. ASSEMBLE CARRIER TOP PLATE
1. Place a plastic block with a hole in the center on a solid workbench
surface.
Note: See Tools And Parts Recommended, above, for details on
the block.
2. Place the carrier top plate on the block concave side down.
3. Place a quill socket in the center of the plate such that it extends down
through the hole in the center of the plate.
4. Place a thrust washer on the quill socket.
5. Using a soft hammer, tap both the quill socket and washer into the plate
hole until the quill socket is seated solidly against the bottom of the
plate center hole.
6. Using a retaining ring plier, squeeze a retaining ring and insert it in the
hole, releasing it on top of the thrust washer in the groove provided.
7. Using a flat blade screwdriver, install two lifting shoulder screws in the
two 8-32 holes by rotating each screw clockwise to firm.
8. Turn the plate over, placing it on the workbench surface concave side
up.
9. Assemble the swivel elbow:
a. Place a nylon gasket on elbow stud.
b. Insert the stud into the top (flat surface) of swivel body.
c. Place a nylon gasket on the bottom side of the swivel body.
d. Insert a 10-32 x 1/8-in. nylon barb into the threads at the side of the
swivel body.
e. Using a 1/4-in. socket wrench, rotate the barb clockwise to firm.
