h. Place a bearing on the short end of the 6DS-SP flange bearing tool
with the flange against the shoulder.
i. While stabilizing the ring with one hand,
insert the flange bearing tool and bearing in the hole.
j. Using a soft hammer, firmly tap the tool until the bearing is seated
in the hole.
k. Remove the flange bearing tool.
l. Rotate the ring 180 _ , positioning the second inside diameter hole
at the bottom of the ring.
m. Repeat Steps g., h., i., j., and k., immediately above, to install a
flange bearing in the second inside diameter hole.
C. INSTALL INNER GIMBAL RING IN OUTER GIMBAL RING
1. Lay the inner gimbal ring on the stainless steel workplate of the bench
top carrier fixture or other solid surface, positioned flat (horizontally)
with the two 8-32 threaded holes up and the outside diameter
bearings at 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock, as shown in the figure
immediately below.
