23. Install a retaining shim ring onto the plate.
Notes:
To vary the pocket depth, the shim ring sizes listed in the table below
may be installed singly or in combination.

24. Referring to Figure 9-12, install the retaining ring on top of the shim
ring:
a. With the notch of the retaining ring down, place the retaining ring
on the shim.
b. Rotate the retaining ring until the notch is positioned 3/4 in. from
the wafer insert positioning hole located at 5 o’clock.
The notch will be positioned at approximately 6 o’clock.
25. Insert the locking disk into the notch of the retaining ring.
26. Install the clamp ring with its notch down and mating to the locking
disk.
27. Insert the eight 8-32 x 3/8 pan head screws into the clamp ring:
a. Install the appropriate bit in a power screwdriver.
b. Set the power screwdriver for approximately 15
inch-pounds of torque.
Note: For the power screwdriver (Item #218197) included in
the Strasbaugh Carrier Tool Kit , a setting of 3
produces approximately 15 inch-pounds of torque.
c. Find the counterbored hole located nearest the notch of the clamp
ring.
