17. Referring to Figure 9-15, retighten the four jam nuts to lock down the
robots new position:
a. Move the dial indicator to a point nearest jam nut/set screw pair A.
b. While using a 1/8-in. hex key to hold the set screw
and
watching the dial indicator to confirm that the reading does not
change, use a 7/16-in. open end wrench to rotate the jam nut
clockwise to firm.
Note: If the dial indicator moves, alternate moving the adjusting
set screw and the jam nut to maintain the desired position
while locking down that position.
c. Repeat Steps a. and b., immediately above, for jam nut/set screw
pairs B, C, and D.
18. When all four jam nuts have been tightened to firm, recheck the dial
indicator readings at all seven points.
If the final leveling goal is not met at all seven points, repeat the
adjustment procedure above until the goal is met and all four jam
nuts are tightened to firm.
19. Apply one drop of Loctite 290 between the jam nut and set screw of
each of the jam nut/set screw pairs labeled A, B, C, and D.
20. Remove the dial indicator.
21. Reinstall the slide assembly cover and tighten the five 6-32 socket head
capscrews securing the slide assembly cover by rotating them clockwise
to firm.
22. Reinstall the end effector connecting arm on the slide/belt connecting
arm and rotate the two 6-32 socket head capscrews clockwise to firm.
