D. LEVEL THE END EFFECTOR
1. Place a small level on the surface plate.
2. Note the position of the bubble--this will be your leveling goal for the
end effector.
3. Check the current adjustment of the end effector:
GOAL: The reading of the level when positioned on the end
effector both PARALLEL and PERPENDICULAR to
the robot arm must match the reading of the level
when it is placed on the surface plate.
a. Place the level on the end effector in a position parallel to the robot
arm.
b. Note whether the level reading meets the goal.
c. Place the level on the end effector in a position perpendicular to the
robot arm.
d. Note whether the level reading meets the goal.
e. If the goal is met for both parallel and perpendicular placement of
the level, no adjustment is needed. Skip to Reinstall The Robot In
the Machine, below.
f. If the goal is not met, continue to the adjustment procedure,
immediately below.
4. Using a 5/32-in. hex key, slightly loosen the two 1/4-20 button head
screws located at the end of the robot arm opposite the vacuum chuck by
rotating them counterclockwise.
