2. Press the <EMERG OFF> button on the control panel to turn power
off to the machine.
3. Open the elevator access doors and the left front operator door.
4. Check the current tension:
CAUTION: Adjusting the belt too tight will cause excessive wear on
the pulleys.
GOAL: The slide belt connecting arm should be just tight
enough to move from one end of the slide to the other
without any belt skipping.
The belt is too loose if there is play when the end
effector is moved with finger pressure.
a. Manually move the slide belt connecting arm from one end of the
slide to the other.
b. If the goal is met, no further adjustment is required.
c. If the goal is not met, proceed to Step 5., immediately below, to
make the adjustment.
5. Remove the end effector connecting arm from the slide/belt connecting
arm:
a. Locate the two 6-32 socket head cap screws mounted underneath
the slide plate.
b. Using a 7/32-in. hex key, remove the two 6-32 socket head
capscrews by rotating them counterclockwise.
6. Remove the slide assembly cover:
a. Using a 7/32-in. hex key, remove the five 6-32 socket head
capscrews securing the slide assembly cover by rotating them
counterclockwise.
b. Lift the cover off and set it aside.
7. Locate the two smooth-sided belt tensioner pulleys on either side of the
center drive pulley with slotted shafts on top and secured below by 5/16-
in. hex bolts.
