8. To tighten the belt, rotate each pulley toward the center drive pulley
until tension is created on the belt:
Notes: The two tensioner pulleys must be adjusted evenly.
CAUTION--Adjusting the belt too tight will cause
excessive wear on the pulleys.
a. While using a 5/16-in. open end wrench underneath to hold the
5/16-in. hex bolt, use a flat blade screwdriver to rotate the slotted
screw of one of the tensioner pulleys toward the center drive pulley
slightly.
b. Repeat for the other tensioner pulley.
c. Test by manually moving the slide belt connecting arm from one
end of the slide to the other.
d. If the goal is met, skip to When a Satisfactory Adjustment Is
Achieved, below.
e. If the goal is not met, repeat Steps a., b., c, and d., above in this
section.
C. WHEN A SATISFACTORY ADJUSTMENT IS ACHIEVED
1. Reinstall the slide assembly cover and tighten the five 6-32 socket head
capscrews securing the slide assembly cover by rotating them clockwise
to firm.
2. Reinstall the end effector connecting arm on the slide/belt connecting
arm and rotate the two 6-32 socket head capscrews clockwise to firm.
