Shuttle Forward Reed Switch Adjustment
25. Close the Left Side Operator Door.
26. Raise both spindles:
a. At Page 2 of the Manual Control Menu select Left Spindle
Up/Down and choose Up to raise the left spindle.
b. Select Right Spindle Up/Down and choose Up to raise the right
spindle.
27. At the Diagnostics Menu, read the shuttle forward reed switch status
(Input 17):
GOAL: Input 17 should be ON when the shuttle is in its forward
position.
a. If the screen displays 17-OFF, go to Step 28. to begin the reed
switch adjustment.
b. If the screen displays 17-ON, skip to Step 33. to begin reassembly.
28. Remove the stainless steel forward air cylinder cover:
a. At Page 1 of the Manual Control Menu select Bridge Move and
choose Pol tbl 1 to move the bridge to polish position.
b. Turn OFF compressed air as above.
c. Open the door.
d. By hand, move the shuttle assembly to the back of the machine,
exposing the stainless steel air cylinder cover.
e. Using a 3/16-in. hex key to rotate the four 10-32 socket head screws
counterclockwise, remove screws and the stainless steel cover.
f. Slide the cover toward the front of the machine and lift out.
29. Adjust the shuttle forward reed switch, located at the left of the cylinder:
a. Measure the distance between the reed switch mounting strap and
the end of the cylinder.
