6. Read the indicator dial at several points around the table as the spindle
rotates.
GOAL: The dial readings should be within +/- .001 in. of equal
as the table rotates.
If the readings meet the +/- .001 requirement, no adjustment is needed.
If not, follow the procedures below to adjust the alignment.
C. ALIGNMENT PROCEDURE
1. Stop the spindle and raise the spindle arm:
a. Select Right Spindle Speed and enter 0 to stop the spindle.
b. Select Right Spindle Up/Down and choose Up to raise the right
spindle.
2. Remove the indicator from the spindle.
3. At Page 1 of the Manual Control Menu select Bridge Move and choose
Load to move the bridge to its load position.
4. Turn the machine power to OFF by pressing the red <EMERG OFF>
button located on the control panel.
5. Remove the left and right side stainless steel bridge covers:
a. Using a ladder to reach the top of the machine, locate the two
latches of the left side cover, one at each side.
b. For each latch, push in, lift up, and rotate as needed to release.
c. Lift off and set aside.
d. Repeat for the right side cover.
Note: For removal of the front and rear bridge covers, use a 5/64-in.
hex key to remove the 6-32 button head screws securing each
cover.
