CARRIER/STAINLESS PAN POSITIONING
B. TEST THE PRESENT POSITION AND ADJUST
1. Close all machine doors.
2. Rotate the Compressed Air Supply valve 1/4 turn counterclockwise to
turn the compressed air supply ON.
3. Confirm that the vacuum supply is ON.
4. Place carriers on spindles by following the procedures detailed in the
Operator Functions chapter of the 6DS-SP Operations manual.
5. At Page 1 of the Manual Control Menu select Bridge Move and choose
Load to move the bridge to its load position.
6. Select Shuttle Move and choose Rear to move the shuttle to its rear
position, nearest the rear of the machine.
7. Open the polish and elevator operator doors.
8. Using a precision scale, measure the distance between the back of each
carrier (at a point on the carrier nearest the rear of the machine) and the
edge of the stainless steel pan.
a. Measure and record the distance between the left carrier and the
edge of the stainless pan.
Left carrier: ______
b. Measure and record the distance between the right carrier and the
edge of the stainless pan.
Right carrier: ______
GOAL: The distance between the edge of each carrier and
the stainless pan should be within +/- .0625 in.
(1/16 inch) of .5 in. (1/2 inch).
c. If the measurements do not meet the goal, go to Step 9.,
immediately below, to adjust.
If the measurements meet the goal, skip to Table Travel Cylinder
Reed Switch Adjustments, below.
