Why does my Stuart Turner CH 4-30 B Water Pump run with outlets closed or cycle on and off?
    • L
      Luis WolfAug 11, 2025
Your Stuart Turner Water Pump might run continuously or cycle frequently due to several reasons: * A leak in the system. * A damaged reed switch, PCB, or pressure switch. * A jammed flow switch. * Low pressure in the pressure vessel. * Debris under the non-return valve sealing face. To resolve this, check tap washers, toilet valve washers, and pipe joints for leaks. If the pump continues to run, it indicates a closed circuit in the flow switch reed, pressure switch, or PCB in the terminal box, in which case contact Stuart Turner. Also, remove the outlet connection and check that the flow switch sits in the lowest position and check the float for free movement. Run the pump at full flow to flush away debris, or remove, clean, or replace the non-return valve.

How to fix reduced or intermittent flow in my Stuart Turner CH 4-30 B?
    • R
      Richard PooleAug 16, 2025
Reduced or intermittent flow in your Stuart Turner Water Pump can be caused by: * An incorrect or missing anti-aeration flange. * Incorrect pipe sizes. * Blocked inlet filters. * Hot water temperature set too high. * A blocked shower head spray plate. To solve this, verify the installation complies with the provided instructions and check for correct pipe sizing. Clean the inline strainer (if fitted) and reduce the cylinder thermostat setting to a maximum of 60 degrees Celsius. Clean the shower head spray plate according to the manufacturer's instructions.

What to do if my Stuart Turner Water Pump will not start?
    • J
      Joanne Taylor MDAug 22, 2025
If your Stuart Turner Water Pump won't start, the problem could stem from: * The electrical supply. * The pump being jammed. * A damaged pressure switch. * Exceeded recommended static inlet/outlet heads. * An activated internal motor thermotrip. To address this, first, check the power supply, fuse, and circuit breaker. Verify the wiring connections. If the motor is buzzing, switch off the power and contact Stuart Turner. Turn off the power, release system water pressure, then turn the power back on to see if the pump starts. If not, contact Stuart Turner. Re-position the pump, wait for the thermotrip to auto-reset, and ensure the duty point and run time are within specification.

What to do if there is no hot water with my Stuart Turner CH 4-30 B Water Pump?
    • A
      Alexander GoodmanAug 29, 2025
If you have no hot water when using your Stuart Turner Water Pump, it could be due to: * An air-locked water feed. * The heat source not operating. * All the hot water being used. * A faulty thermostatic mixer valve. To troubleshoot, vent the hot water pump of air and check the cold feed to the hot water cylinder. Also, check the water level in the cold water tank, ensure all stopcocks and isolating valves are open, and verify that the boiler is switched on. Check the cylinder thermostat and immersion heater, and confirm the cylinder contains hot water. Finally, ensure the tank volume is adequate and consult the manufacturer's instructions.

Why is my Stuart Turner CH 4-30 B Water Pump flexible hose leaking?
    • M
      Mary WilliamsSep 4, 2025
A flexible hose leak in your Stuart Turner Water Pump is likely due to incorrect fitting or damaged O-rings. To fix this, ensure the hose is firmly pushed onto the pump's inlet/outlet connections and pipework. Also, make sure the copper pipe ends are cleanly cut and deburred.
