Automatic Hill Holder
The automatic Hill Holder retains t he same degree of
braking effort on an upgrade as that applied by the driver
in stopping as long as the cl ut ch pedal is de pr essed. The
Hill Holder d oe s not opera te on level or descending surf aces.
However,
the clutch pedal must be depressed before re -
lea
sin g the brake pedal. This permits the ri ght foot to be
re moveri fr om t he brake pedal to operate the ac c elerator
when ready to resume f or w ard mo tio n. Rele asing the clutch
pedal
re leases the action of the Hill Holder.
To use
the Hill Hol der when st oppi ng on an upgrade ,
depress the clutch
peda l and then apply foot br akes. The
ri
ght foot may now he re moved f rom the brak e pedal. To
release Hill
Holder acti on, release the clutch peda l.

Studebaker Climatizer and Defroster
The Stude b ake r Clim atizer is a fresh air heating and
ven til at i ng sy stem . Fresh air passes through an air duct
and t hen through the Climatizer heater core. Th e wa r med
a ir is disc!1arged for ward and rearwar d from below the
front ; ~ea.t and spreads uniformly t hrou gh the c ar in terior .

the control. The control (marked "W ") se ts a thermos tat
which in
turn controls th e flow of wat er thro ugh the h eater
coils. The further outward you pull the control, the warme r
will be
the l?-ot air output of t he Climatiz er.
When
the engine cooling water is cold and th e contro l
handle is
in the closed pos it ion, the th ermostat per m its a
full flow
of water into th e hea ter co re until t he temperature
at the thermostat unit (j ust above the accele rator pedal)
