Alcohol,
an ti -f reeze mixtures con tainin g alcohol, and
calc ium chl orid e or othe r chemical mi xtures used to melt
sn ow and ice or to sett le dust should be flushed with
wat er as so on as po ssi ble in order to
th e ename l fin ish and chromium parts.

Washing the Car
When wash ing the ca r, first saturate all foreign su b-
st;mces on
th e fi ni sh w ith cold water. Then u se a clean
sponge
and r un ning water f or the removal of dirt . Dry
the body w it h a clean, d am p cha mois skin, using a straight
horizon tal or ve rtical motion , ra t her th an a circular mo-
ti on. It is imp or tan t tha t a di fferent sponge and chamois
skin be used on t he body from that used on the chassis.

These parts should be ke pt clean a nd free from dirt and
foreig n ma tter . For cleaning chrom i um plated parts use
either clear water and a clean clo th or Studebaker Chromium
Cleaner , av ail abl e from Stude bake r dealers. To protect the
finish after the parts are cleaned, rub with a clean cloth
t
hat has been dampened with oil, or apply a coating of wax.
