8.Remove the top and the grate(s) from their packing - Install the
grate(s)onthetop.
9.Positionthetopovertheburnersandsecureinplacewithtwo(2)
thumbscrewsandtwo(2)nylonwashersprovided.
10.YourSuburbanDrop-inCooktopisnowreadyforoperation.Before
operating, read the safety information and operating instructions
containedinthismanual.
11. Ifinstallationofthisproductisinaportablecountertop,thefollowing
additionalguidelinesmustbefollowed:
a.Portablecountertopisprovidedbyinstallerandmustbeable
tosupportaminimumweightof20lbs.
b.OEM mustprovidealabelplacedonthecountertopthat
clearly states the maximum weight that can be added to the
portable counter top after installation. (This should take into
accounttheweightofthecookingunit-20lbs).
FOR EXAMPLE: Mountingbracketusedisratedfor100lbs.
OEMshouldweighfabricatedcountertop.Subtractweightof
countertop(i.e.20lbs)andweightofcookingunit(20lbs.)from
100lbs.Theweightlabelshouldsaynomorethan60lbs.can
be put on the counter top.
c. Thesurfacematerialforthecountertopmustberatedfora
minimumof 200°Fcontinuousoperationtemperature withthe
maximumweightapplied.
d. Minimum clearances from combustible walls above and
belowthecountertopmustbeadheredtoduringoperation.
e. TheOEMmustprovideawarninglabelplacedonthecounter
topthatrequirestheunittobecooledaminimumof30minutes
afterusebeforestoring.
f.Duringstorage,aclearanceof1"mustbemaintainedfrom
thetopsurfaceoftheunit.
g. NOTE:Thegasmustbeturned"OFF"anddisconnected
whenstored.
SAFETY INFORMATION
Listedbelowaresomeveryimportantfactsthatyoushouldfollow.They

1.Have your dealer show you where the main gas shut-off valve is
locatedandhowtoshutitoffinanemergency.
2.Useyourcooktoponlyforitsintendeduse.
WARNING! NEVER use this appliance as a space heater to heat
or warm the room. Doing so may result in carbon monoxide
poisoning and overheating of the appliance.
3.Ifthecooktopisnearawindow,properprecautionsshouldbetaken
topreventcurtainsfromblowingoverburnerscreatingarehazard.
4.Keeptheareaaroundthecooktopcleanandclearofanycombustible
materials,gasolineorotherammablevaporsandliquids.
5.Donotleavechildrenaloneorunsupervisedinareawherecooktop
isbeingused.Thetopburners,burnergratesandotherareasnearthe
burnersbecomehotenoughtocausesevereburns.
6.Childrenshouldbetaughtthatthecooktopisnotatoy.Theyshould
not be allowed to play with the controls or any other parts of the
appliance.
7.Donotstoreitemsofinteresttochildrenincabinetsaboveornear
thecooktop.Childrenclimbingontheappliancetoreachitemscould
beseriouslyinjured.
8.Donotwear loosettingclothingorlong-hangingsleevedclothing
whileusingtheappliance.Iftheycontacttheopenameoftheburner,
theycouldigniteandcausesevereburns.
9.Use only dry pot holders to removehot utensils. Using damp pot
holdersonhotsurfacescouldresultinburnstohands.Donotusea
towelorbulkyclothforapotholder.Theclothcouldcontactopename
andcatchre.
10.Never heat an unopened container. Pressure build-up within the
containercancauseittoexplode.
11.Keepcooktopclean.Thebuild-upofgreaseandfoodboil-overand/
orspillagecancreatearehazard.

12.Avoidusingyourcooktoporanyotherapplianceifyousmellgas.
Donot assume thatthesmellofgas inyourRVisnormal.Any time
youdetecttheodorofgas,itistobeconsideredlifethreateningand
correctedimmediately.Extinguishanyopenamesincludingcigarettes
andevacuateallpersonsfromthevehicle.ShutoffgassupplyatLPgas
bottle.(Seesafetynoticeonfrontcoverofthismanual.)
13.Turnpanhandlesinwardortowardbackofcooktopandoutofthe
wayofpeoplewalkingpastcooktopand/oroutofthereachofchildren.
Donotturnhandlestowheretheyareovertheburners.
14. Donotusewaterongreaseres.Neverpickupaamingpan.
Smothera amingpanwith alidor atpan.Flaming greaseoutside
thepancanbe extinguished with baking soda or a multipurposedry
chemicalreextinguisher.
15.Neverleavetopburner(s)unattended.
a.Forsuchreasonsasdowndraftsthatcouldbecreatedby
openingandclosingofcabinetdoorsordoorswithintheRV
orbypositiveornegativeairpressuresaffectingburnersdue
toimproperinstallation,(seeparagraph6underInstallation)
theburnercouldextinguishresultingingasescapingintothe
RV. Remember, gas to burnersis controlled manually,you
mustturngas“ONand“”OFF”.
b. Aboilovercouldoccurandthespillcouldignite.
16. Flamesize
a. Never extend the ame beyond the outer edge of the
utensil.Ahigheramesimplywastesheatandenergy.
b. Correct ame size is determined by utensil size and
material,whatyouarecookingandwhetherornotyouare
cookingwithliquid.
17. Topreventdamagetothecooktop,topburners,ortopgrate,never
operateatopburnerwithoutapaninplace.Thetopburners,especially
thehighinputburner(ifequipped),shouldnotbeoperatedonhighfor
anextendedperiodoftime.
Usethehighamesettingtobegin,thenreducetheametoalower
settingtocontinuecooking.Neverusecookwarewhichextendsbeyond
oneinchofthegrate,orrestsovertwooperatingtopburners.Thiswill
causeexcessiveheatbuild-upwhichresultsindamagetothegrate,top
burner,andcooktop.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1.Knowwhichknobcontrolswhichburner.Alwaysbesurethecorrect
burneristurnedon.
2.Depressknobandturnfullycounter-clockwiseto“Lite”position.
a.Verifysufcientgassupplybeforeattemptingtolighttheburner.
Airinthegaslinewillsignicantlydelayburnerignition.Theburner
maylightunexpectedlyastheairinthelineclearsandisreplacedby
LPgas.Thisunexpectedignitioncouldburnyou.Airinthegaslines
mayoccurafterthevehiclegasbottleand/ortankisrelled,during
andafterservicingotherappliancesonsamegasline,etc.
b. Do not attempt to light more than one burner at a time.
c. Immediatelylightburnerbyholdingalongmatchneartheburner
ports.
CAUTION: Hand held ignitors may be used but be sure they are the
type designed for lighting open ame burners.
3. Ifanyburnershouldextinguishafterinitiallightingorduetoaccidental
blow-out,turngasoffbyturningcontrolknobclockwise to“OFF”,
waitve(5)minutesbeforeattemptingtorelighttheburner.Failureto
followtheseinstructionscouldresultinareorexplosion.
Iftheburnershouldgooutwhilecooking,orifthereisanodorofgas,
turncontrolknob(s)clockwise to“OFF”.Waitve(5)minutesfor
gasodortodisappear.Ifgasodorisstillpresent-Donotrelightburners.

4.Toturnburner(s)“OFF”,turntheappropriatecontrolknobclockwise
to“OFF”.
WARNING! Be sure all control knobs are turned “OFF” when
you are not cooking. Someone could be burned or a re could
start if a burner is accidently left on or unattended even if only
momentarily.
