8.Remove the top and the grate(s) from their packing - Install the
grate(s)onthetop.
9.Positionthetopovertheburnersandsecureinplacewithtwo(2)
thumbscrewsandtwo(2)nylonwashersprovided.
10.YourSuburbanDrop-inCooktopisnowreadyforoperation.Before
operating, read the safety information and operating instructions
containedinthismanual.
11. Ifinstallationofthisproductisinaportablecountertop,thefollowing
additionalguidelinesmustbefollowed:
a.Portablecountertopisprovidedbyinstallerandmustbeable
tosupportaminimumweightof20lbs.
b.OEM mustprovidealabelplacedonthecountertopthat
clearly states the maximum weight that can be added to the
portable counter top after installation. (This should take into
accounttheweightofthecookingunit-20lbs).
FOR EXAMPLE: Mountingbracketusedisratedfor100lbs.
OEMshouldweighfabricatedcountertop.Subtractweightof
countertop(i.e.20lbs)andweightofcookingunit(20lbs.)from
100lbs.Theweightlabelshouldsaynomorethan60lbs.can
be put on the counter top.
c. Thesurfacematerialforthecountertopmustberatedfora
minimumof 200°Fcontinuousoperationtemperature withthe
maximumweightapplied.
d. Minimum clearances from combustible walls above and
belowthecountertopmustbeadheredtoduringoperation.
e. TheOEMmustprovideawarninglabelplacedonthecounter
topthatrequirestheunittobecooledaminimumof30minutes
afterusebeforestoring.
f.Duringstorage,aclearanceof1"mustbemaintainedfrom
thetopsurfaceoftheunit.
g. NOTE:Thegasmustbeturned"OFF"anddisconnected
whenstored.
SAFETY INFORMATION
Listedbelowaresomeveryimportantfactsthatyoushouldfollow.They
arelistedforyourprotectionandsafety.
1.Have your dealer show you where the main gas shut-off valve is
locatedandhowtoshutitoffinanemergency.
2.Useyourcooktoponlyforitsintendeduse.
WARNING! NEVER use this appliance as a space heater to heat
or warm the room. Doing so may result in carbon monoxide
poisoning and overheating of the appliance.
3.Ifthecooktopisnearawindow,properprecautionsshouldbetaken
topreventcurtainsfromblowingoverburnerscreatingarehazard.
4.Keeptheareaaroundthecooktopcleanandclearofanycombustible
materials,gasolineorotherammablevaporsandliquids.
5.Donotleavechildrenaloneorunsupervisedinareawherecooktop
isbeingused.Thetopburners,burnergratesandotherareasnearthe
burnersbecomehotenoughtocausesevereburns.
6.Childrenshouldbetaughtthatthecooktopisnotatoy.Theyshould
not be allowed to play with the controls or any other parts of the
appliance.
7.Donotstoreitemsofinteresttochildrenincabinetsaboveornear
thecooktop.Childrenclimbingontheappliancetoreachitemscould
beseriouslyinjured.
8.Donotwear loosettingclothingorlong-hangingsleevedclothing
whileusingtheappliance.Iftheycontacttheopenameoftheburner,
theycouldigniteandcausesevereburns.
9.Use only dry pot holders to removehot utensils. Using damp pot
holdersonhotsurfacescouldresultinburnstohands.Donotusea
towelorbulkyclothforapotholder.Theclothcouldcontactopename
andcatchre.
10.Never heat an unopened container. Pressure build-up within the
containercancauseittoexplode.
11.Keepcooktopclean.Thebuild-upofgreaseandfoodboil-overand/
orspillagecancreatearehazard.

12.Avoidusingyourcooktoporanyotherapplianceifyousmellgas.
Donot assume thatthesmellofgas inyourRVisnormal.Any time
youdetecttheodorofgas,itistobeconsideredlifethreateningand
correctedimmediately.Extinguishanyopenamesincludingcigarettes
andevacuateallpersonsfromthevehicle.ShutoffgassupplyatLPgas
bottle.(Seesafetynoticeonfrontcoverofthismanual.)
13.Turnpanhandlesinwardortowardbackofcooktopandoutofthe
wayofpeoplewalkingpastcooktopand/oroutofthereachofchildren.
Donotturnhandlestowheretheyareovertheburners.
14. Donotusewaterongreaseres.Neverpickupaamingpan.
Smothera amingpanwith alidor atpan.Flaming greaseoutside
thepancanbe extinguished with baking soda or a multipurposedry
chemicalreextinguisher.
15.Neverleavetopburner(s)unattended.
a.Forsuchreasonsasdowndraftsthatcouldbecreatedby
openingandclosingofcabinetdoorsordoorswithintheRV
orbypositiveornegativeairpressuresaffectingburnersdue
toimproperinstallation,(seeparagraph6underInstallation)
theburnercouldextinguishresultingingasescapingintothe
RV. Remember, gas to burnersis controlled manually,you
mustturngas“ONand“”OFF”.
b. Aboilovercouldoccurandthespillcouldignite.
16. Flamesize
a. Never extend the ame beyond the outer edge of the
utensil.Ahigheramesimplywastesheatandenergy.
b. Correct ame size is determined by utensil size and
material,whatyouarecookingandwhetherornotyouare
cookingwithliquid.
17. Topreventdamagetothecooktop,topburners,ortopgrate,never
operateatopburnerwithoutapaninplace.Thetopburners,especially
thehighinputburner(ifequipped),shouldnotbeoperatedonhighfor
anextendedperiodoftime.
Usethehighamesettingtobegin,thenreducetheametoalower
settingtocontinuecooking.Neverusecookwarewhichextendsbeyond
oneinchofthegrate,orrestsovertwooperatingtopburners.Thiswill
causeexcessiveheatbuild-upwhichresultsindamagetothegrate,top
burner,andcooktop.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1.Knowwhichknobcontrolswhichburner.Alwaysbesurethecorrect
burneristurnedon.
2.Depressknobandturnfullycounter-clockwiseto“Lite”position.
a.Verifysufcientgassupplybeforeattemptingtolighttheburner.
Airinthegaslinewillsignicantlydelayburnerignition.Theburner
maylightunexpectedlyastheairinthelineclearsandisreplacedby
LPgas.Thisunexpectedignitioncouldburnyou.Airinthegaslines
mayoccurafterthevehiclegasbottleand/ortankisrelled,during
andafterservicingotherappliancesonsamegasline,etc.
b. Do not attempt to light more than one burner at a time.
c. Immediatelylightburnerbyholdingalongmatchneartheburner
ports.
CAUTION: Hand held ignitors may be used but be sure they are the
type designed for lighting open ame burners.
3. Ifanyburnershouldextinguishafterinitiallightingorduetoaccidental
blow-out,turngasoffbyturningcontrolknobclockwise to“OFF”,
waitve(5)minutesbeforeattemptingtorelighttheburner.Failureto
followtheseinstructionscouldresultinareorexplosion.
Iftheburnershouldgooutwhilecooking,orifthereisanodorofgas,
turncontrolknob(s)clockwise to“OFF”.Waitve(5)minutesfor
gasodortodisappear.Ifgasodorisstillpresent-Donotrelightburners.

4.Toturnburner(s)“OFF”,turntheappropriatecontrolknobclockwise
to“OFF”.
WARNING! Be sure all control knobs are turned “OFF” when
you are not cooking. Someone could be burned or a re could
start if a burner is accidently left on or unattended even if only
momentarily.
