  • Power ON/OFF: A dedicated button turns the entire cooktop ON and OFF. When ON, the cooktop enters standby mode until a cooking zone is activated.
  • Cooking Zone Activation and Power Level Adjustment: To activate a cooking zone, users select the desired zone and then use '+' and '-' buttons to adjust the power level from 0 to 9. If no selection is made within 60 seconds of turning on the cooktop, it will automatically turn off for safety.
  • Dual Cooking Zone: The right rear cooking zone offers two different size elements (8.1"/5.2") to accommodate various pan sizes. Users can activate the innermost element or the entire dual element.
  • Child Lock: This safety feature locks all controls (except ON/OFF) to prevent accidental activation or changes to cooking settings by children. It is activated by a single press and released by pressing and holding for 3 seconds.
  • Timer Function: A timer can be linked to a specific cooking zone, allowing it to automatically turn off after a set countdown time (up to 99 minutes). Multiple cooking zones can have linked timers, with the display showing the shortest remaining time.
  • Automatic Shutoff: If a cooking zone is in constant use for more than 2 hours without a change in control setting, it will automatically shut off.
  • Automatic Power Level Control: The cooktop automatically controls the power level at high temperatures to prevent overheating.
  • Residual Heat Indicators: Each cooking zone has a "Hot" indicator that remains lit until the surface has cooled down to a safe temperature, warning against burns.
  • Cookware Selection: The manual emphasizes using flat-bottomed, heavier gauge stainless steel cookware. It advises against using pots with aluminum or copper bases (due to potential discoloration), cast iron pots with rough edges (due to scratching), and undersized utensils.
  • Energy Saving Tips: Recommendations include positioning pots before switching on zones, keeping cooking zones and cookware clean, using lids, switching off zones before the end of cooking time to utilize residual heat, and matching pot size to the cooking zone.

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning the Cooktop:
    • Only use an approved ceramic cooktop cleaner.
    • Before first use, clean with ceramic cooktop cleaner to protect the surface and ease future cleanups.
    • Daily use of ceramic cooktop cleaner is recommended.
    • Apply a few drops of cleaner, spread with a paper towel, rinse with clear water, and wipe dry.
    • CAUTION: Do not heat the cooktop until it has been thoroughly cleaned.
    • CAUTION: Do not use scrub pads or abrasive/etching cleansers as they can damage the glass surface.
    • CAUTION: Wear an oven mitt potholder when cleaning a hot cooking surface.
  • Burned-On Residue Removal:
    • Use a suitable metal razor scraper (held at a 30° angle) to remove burnt-on deposits or spilled food while the surface is still hot.
    • Immediately remove melted sugar, plastic, or aluminum foil from a hot cooking zone with a metal scraper to prevent permanent damage.
    • After scraping, apply ceramic cooktop cleaner, spread, rinse, and wipe dry.
  • Metal Marks and Scratches:
    • Metal marks from sliding pots can be removed with an approved ceramic cooktop cleaner.
    • Black discoloration from aluminum or copper overlays boiling dry should be removed immediately to prevent it from becoming permanent.
    • Avoid sliding pans across the surface to prevent scratches.
  • General Cleaning: The ventilating hood and grease filters above the cooktop should be cleaned frequently to prevent grease accumulation and fire hazards.
  • Cooktop Integrity: If the glass surface is cracked, switch off the appliance immediately to avoid electric shock and do not use it until the glass surface has been changed by a qualified technician.
