Overview

This document serves as an assembly and maintenance guide for Sun Chiro Tables, specifically covering the Prestige, Standard, Specialty, and Practice Specials lines. It provides comprehensive instructions for setting up the tables, along with details on warranty, return policy, and ongoing maintenance.

Function Description:

Sun Chiro Tables are chiropractic adjusting tables designed to facilitate various chiropractic adjustments. The document outlines the assembly process for different components, including the front triangle, legs, headpiece (with variations for forward drop, no drop, elevation, and toggle drop), armrests, foot extension, and cocking mechanisms (handles or kick drops). The tables are shipped in two boxes: a larger box containing the table body and a smaller box with the headpiece, legs, accessories, and hardware. The assembly process is designed to be straightforward, typically taking 20-30 minutes for most models.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Hardware (All Tables):
    • 12 Leg bolts (10 for Classic Tables): 3-inch 5/16 Hex Bolts with a lock washer and a fender washer.
    • 5 Triangle bolts: 3 long hex head lag screws with 1 flat washer.
    • Medium-sized hairpin for the T-Bar.
    • 2 hinge pins for headpiece attachment (exception: elevation headpiece equipped tables).
  • Hardware (Elevation Headpiece Equipped Tables):
    • 4 Lag screws: 1 1/2 inches long with 4 flat washers (in a marked bag).
  • Hardware (Handle Cocking Drop Tables):
    • Appropriate number of cocking handles.
    • Appropriate number of tension knobs.
    • 8 #8 machine screws per cocking rod.
    • 2 cover plates per cocking rod.
  • Hardware (Kick Drop Equipped Tables):
    • Appropriate number of kick drop pedals.
    • Appropriate number of tension knobs.
    • 5/8 nut and lock washer for tightening the kick down rod (shipped on the rod).
  • Hardware (Lumbar Prop and Drop Equipped Tables - marked bag):
    • Hairpin.
    • Screw-on handle.
  • Hardware (Arm Rests):
    • Bag containing four 3 1/2 inch 5/16 bolts, 4 flat washers, 4 fender washers, and four lock nuts.
  • Tools Required for Assembly: Adjustable wrench, 1/2" wrench, 1/2" socket wrench, 7/16" socket wrench, and a #2 Phillips Head screwdriver (for handle cocking models). Socket wrenches and an extra hand wrench are recommended to speed up the process.
  • Kick Drop Pedal Height: Designed to rest approximately 4 inches above the floor for shoe clearance. Longer down rods are available upon request.

Usage Features:

  • Table Leveling: The table should be placed in its approximate position of use. Bolt holes on the legs are oversized to allow for approximately 1/8" of leveling. After positioning, loosen the 12 leg bolts to snug, "wiggle" the table to settle, then tighten the bolts until the cut lock washer is fully compressed and flat.
  • Headpiece Variations: The guide covers assembly for standard forward drop, no drop, CBP style, and elevation headpieces with forward and toggle drop. Specific instructions are provided for each type, including the insertion of the T-bar and hinge pins.
  • Cocking Mechanism: Instructions detail the attachment of both handle-based and kick drop-based cocking mechanisms. For handle cocking, cover plates are attached to the table side, ensuring the widest part of the plate faces up. For kick drops, the down rod is screwed into the receiver, and the nut and lock washer are tightened while holding the pedal straight.
  • Foot Extension: Pre-installed on all 2011 tables. Instructions are provided for removal and re-installation, noting that it can be used without hairpins for on-demand removal.
  • Thoracic and Lumbo-Pelvic Drops: For tables with both, cocking rods are marked "Thoracic" or "Lumbar" to indicate their correct placement.

Maintenance Features:

  • Warranty:
    • Standard Line Tables: One-year warranty on materials and workmanship (upholstery warranted for workmanship only).
    • Prestige Line and Contemporary Tables: Two-year warranty on materials and workmanship (upholstery warranted for workmanship only).
    • Elevation Columns (Contemporary Tables): One-year warranty from the manufacturer.
    • Replacement Parts: Sun Chiropractic Tables will ship replacement parts at no expense, but the customer is responsible for installation. For tables shipped outside the Continental US, the customer covers shipping costs less an equivalent domestic shipping allowance.
    • "Hard Parts": Mechanical table parts subject to wear and breakage may be provided free of charge (excluding shipping cost) to the original customer, even after warranty termination, at Sun Chiropractic Tables' sole discretion.
  • 10-Day Return Policy: Applicable to all standard tables, excluding those with custom colors or customized options. Customers must contact Sun Chiropractic Tables within 10 days of arrival to initiate a return. Tables must be returned in "new" condition for a complete refund (excluding original shipping paid); otherwise, the refund will be decreased by the cost of damage.
  • Leg Maintenance: Leg bolts may require tightening over time due to patient treatment and table settling. It is recommended to tighten leg bolts after approximately 2 weeks of use, again at about 3 months, and then every 6 months for maximum safety. Immediate tightening is advised if legs appear loose.
  • General Maintenance: Routine table maintenance is crucial for optimal condition. A printable maintenance log is available on the website under "Customer Support > Table Documentation." Periodic inspections and lubrication are suggested every 90 to 120 days.
  • Troubleshooting Guide:
    • Bolt spins or won't tighten: Indicates a stripped thread; contact support.
    • Drop won't cock after assembly: May be due to surface rust from shipment. Rapidly and gently move the cocking arm up and down until it cocks, then spray a small amount of WD40 on the plunger.
    • Drop seems stiff over time: Spray the drop with a small amount of WD40.
    • Sharp object felt through cushion: Inspect under the table for an attachment screw. If found, back it out several turns with a Phillips head screwdriver.
    • Drop won't cock after prolonged use: Spray WD40 between the lifting arm and the white block. Use a quick tapping method to move the cocking rod up and down until the drop seats itself.
  • Customer Support: Available via phone, email, or chat on the website (sunchirotable.com) for any questions or assistance.
