IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When used in the directed manner, this unit has been designed and manufactured to ensure your personal safety. However,
improper use can result in potential electrical shock or fire hazards. Please read all safety and operating instructions carefully
before installation and use, and keep these instructions handy for future reference. Take special note of all warnings listed
in these instructions and on the unit.
1. WaterandMoisture–Theunitshouldnotbeusednearwater.Forexample:nearabathtub,washbowl,kitchensink,
laundry tub, swimming pool or in a wet basement.
2. Ventilation – The unit should be situated so that its location or position does not interfere with its proper ventilation.
Forexample,itshouldnotbesituatedonabed,sofa,rugorsimilarsurfacethatmayblockventilationopenings.
Also,itshouldnotbeplacedinabuilt-ininstallation,suchasabookcaseorcabinet,whichmayimpedetheow
of air through the ventilation openings.
3. Heat–Theunitshouldbesituatedawayfromheatsourcessuchasradiators,heatregisters,stovesorother
appliances (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
4. PowerSources–Theunitshouldbeconnectedtoapowersupplyonlyofthetypedescribedintheoperating
instructions or as marked on the appliance.
5. Power-CableProtection–Powersupplycablesshouldberoutedsothattheyarenotlikelytobewalkedonor
pinchedbyitemsplaceduponoragainstthem.Itisalwaysbesttohaveaclearareafromwherethecableexits
the unit to where it is plugged into an AC outlet.
6. ObjectsandLiquidEntry–Careshouldbetakensothatobjectsdonotfallandliquidsarenotspilledintoany
openings or vents located on the product.
7. Attachments – Do not use attachments not recommended by the product manufacturer.
8. LightningandPowerSurgeProtection–Unplugtheunitfromthewallsocketanddisconnecttheantennaorcable
system during a lightning storm or when it is left unattended and unused for long periods of time. This will prevent
damagetotheproductduetolightningandpower-linesurges.
9. Overloading–Donotoverloadwallsockets,extensioncords,orintegralconveniencereceptaclesasthiscanresult
in a risk of fire or electric shock.
10.DamageRequiringService–Theunitshouldbeservicedbyqualiedservicepersonnelwhen:
A. the power supply cable or plug has been damaged.
B. objects have fallen into or liquid has been spilled into the enclosure.
C.theunithasbeenexposedtorain.
D. the unit has been dropped or the enclosure damaged.
E.theunitexhibitsamarkedchangeinperformanceordoesnotoperatenormally.
11.Antenna–Donotconnectanexternalantennatotheunit(otherthanthatprovided).
12.PeriodsofNonuse–Iftheunitistobeleftunusedforanextendedperiodoftime,suchasamonthorlonger,thepower
cable should be unplugged from the unit to prevent damage or corrosion.
13.Servicing–Theusershouldnotattempttoservicetheunitbeyondthosemethodsdescribedintheuser’soperating
instructions.Servicemethodsnotcoveredintheoperatinginstructionsshouldbereferredtoqualiedservicepersonnel.
14. Replacement Parts – When replacement parts are required, be sure the service technician has used replacement
partsspeciedbythemanufacturerorhavethesamecharacteristicsastheoriginalpart.Unauthorizedsubstitutions
may result in fire, electric shock or other hazards.
15.SafetyCheck–Uponcompletionofanyserviceorrepairstothisproduct,asktheservicetechniciantoperform
safety checks to determine that the product is in proper operating condition.
16.Cleaning-Unplugthisproductfromthewalloutletbeforecleaning.Donotuseliquidcleanersoraerosolcleaners.Usea
damp cloth for cleaning.
17.GroundingorPolarization-Thisproductmaybeequippedwithapolarizedalternating-currentlineplug(aplughavingone
bladewiderthantheother).Thisplugwilltintothepoweroutletonlyoneway.Thisisasafetyfeature.Ifyouareunableto
inserttheplugfullyintotheoutlet,tryreversingtheplug.Iftheplugshouldstillfailtot,contactyourelectriciantoreplace
your obsolete outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized plug.
