Overview

The Sunnydaze Decor Tour de Vase Ceramic Outdoor Water Fountain with LED Lights (Model SSS-383) is a decorative and functional outdoor water feature designed to enhance garden and patio spaces with the soothing sound of cascading water and ambient LED lighting. This ceramic fountain is intended for outdoor use only and features a multi-component design that requires careful assembly and regular maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Function Description:

The primary function of this device is to create a tranquil outdoor atmosphere through the continuous circulation of water and the illumination of LED lights. Water is pumped from a reservoir within the fountain body to the fountain top, where it cascades down, producing a relaxing sound. The integrated LED lights provide an aesthetic glow, particularly effective during evening hours. The fountain operates using an electric submersible pump connected to an AC adapter, which in turn plugs into a standard grounded GFCI outlet. The design incorporates built-in water tubing and submersible lights/light cables, ensuring a seamless and integrated appearance.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Model Number: SSS-383
  • Type: Outdoor Water Fountain with LED Lights
  • Material: Ceramic
  • Power Source: Electric submersible pump with AC adapter
  • Electrical Connection: Requires a properly grounded GFCI outlet
  • Water Tubing: Built-in to the fountain structure
  • Lighting: Integrated LED lights with submersible light cables
  • Warranty: 1-year warranty period for replacement parts or products (proof of purchase and photos of defect required). Warranty registration available online.

Usage Features:

  • Assembly: The fountain consists of a fountain top and a fountain body. Assembly involves placing the fountain top onto the body, connecting the electric submersible pump to the built-in tubing in the fountain top, and securing the light cable to the pump's short cable. The pump is then placed inside the fountain, and its long power cord is routed out an opening in the back.
  • Placement: It is crucial to select a smooth, level surface for placement to ensure stability and proper water flow. Assembly should be done on a soft, clean surface to prevent damage to the finish.
  • Water Filling: The fountain must be filled with enough water to keep the pump fully submerged during operation. Insufficient water levels can lead to the pump running dry and burning out the motor.
  • Power Connection: The pump power cable connects to the AC adapter, which then plugs into a grounded GFCI outlet. A drip loop should be created in the power cord to prevent water from traveling along the cord and damaging electrical sockets.
  • Water Sounds: The fountain produces cascading water sounds, contributing to a peaceful environment.
  • Lighting: The LED lights provide ambient illumination, enhancing the fountain's visual appeal, especially at night. The lights and their cables are designed to be submersible.
  • Air in Pump: When first used, air may be trapped in the pump, which can temporarily prevent water flow. It may take several minutes for the trapped air to escape.
  • Flow Control: The pump typically features a flow control mechanism that allows users to adjust the water flow rate to achieve the desired effect and minimize splashing.
  • Aging Process: The ceramic finish may gradually mellow in color over time, which is a natural aging process and not considered a defect.

Maintenance Features:

  • Water Level Monitoring: Regularly check the water level to ensure the pump remains fully submerged. Frequent refilling may be necessary, especially in hot, windy climates or areas with direct sunlight, due to increased evaporation.
  • Water Type: Only use water in the fountain. Distilled water can help prevent mineral buildup but is not strictly required; tap water is acceptable. Avoid heavily chlorinated water, as it can damage the fountain or pump.
  • Water Changes: Periodically change the water to keep the fountain and pump clean.
  • Cleaning: Regularly remove scale and buildup. DO NOT use harmful additives such as bleach or chlorine, abrasive scrubbers, or a pressure washer, as these can damage the ceramic finish or pump.
  • Pump Handling: When handling the pump, always pick it up by its body, never by the power cord, to prevent damage.
  • Winterization: During freezing weather, the fountain must be drained, the pump disconnected, and both stored indoors. Allowing ice to form can cause ceramic cracking, permanent pump damage, and/or lighting malfunctions.
  • Power Disconnection: Always unplug the power supply before performing any cleaning or maintenance on the fountain or recirculating pump.
  • Troubleshooting:
    • No Water Flow: Check for air bubbles in the pump filter, ensure the pump is fully submerged, adjust the flow control, and inspect for obstructions in the pump and tubing. Gently tapping the pump or adding water may help release trapped air.
    • Pump Noise: Can be caused by trapped air, low water level, or the pump being too close to the fountain walls. Adjusting water level or pump position may help.
    • Lights Not Working: Ensure the AC adapter is fully connected to the pump power cable, and all light cables are securely connected with adequately tightened seals.
    • Electrical Issues: Verify that the power outlet is working. Consult a certified electrician if electrical connections are in doubt.
  • Warranty Voidance: Any modification to the product or failure to follow recommended care instructions will void the product warranty. Manufacturer and seller disclaim liability for personal injury, property damage, or loss resulting from incorrect attachment, improper use, inadequate maintenance, or neglect of the product.
