It could also be that the lower thread is too short, doesn’t unwind smoothly, or is too weak or elastic. Try adjusting the upper thread tension, removing any dents using a whetstone or sandpaper or changing the movable blade. Adjust or change the bobbin case spring, clean/check for dents in the thread guide on the bobbin case, or change the lower thread.

To resolve this, try re-punching the design tape, correcting the stitches, changing the needle, re-installing the needle correctly, or cleaning the needle and hook.

  A short upper thread after trimming on your SunStar Sewing Machine, due to separation failure, can occur if the movable blade is too fast or too slow to separate the upper thread, the picker is in an incorrect position, or there is a picker failure. To fix this, adjust the insert angle of the movable blade to 295 degrees, adjust the picker position, and check and change the fuse F1, F3. Also, check/change the solenoid and its connection, and check the connection and change the joint board.
