Why does my Superior Indoor Fireplace smoke an hour after lighting?
    • A
      Antonio MccannAug 10, 2025
If smoking occurs an hour or two after lighting the Superior Indoor Fireplace, it might be because your well-insulated house is too airtight, preventing replacement air from entering to feed the fire. To resolve this, try opening a window slightly or opening doors to one or two rooms to see if the smoking stops. Also, check if your outside combustion air kit (if installed) is open and ensure there are no obstructions in front of the exterior air entry.

Can vent fans cause Superior BC36MH to smoke?
    • G
      Gregory MartinezAug 25, 2025
Vent fans, exhaust hoods, or central heating/cooling systems can potentially steal combustion air from your Superior Indoor Fireplace if their volume is high enough to cause negative pressure and an unwanted downdraft, leading to smoking.
