Function Description:

The SSG-6029P-E1CR12H/L/T server is a high-performance storage solution supporting dual Intel Xeon 81xx/61xx/51xx/41xx/31xx series or 82xx/62xx/52xx/42xx/32xx series processors in Socket P. It is designed to provide robust computing and storage capabilities for commercial environments, including support for various operating systems and advanced management features. The system is equipped with an Intel C622 chipset and offers extensive expansion and connectivity options.

Processors: Dual Intel Xeon 81xx/61xx/51xx/41xx/31xx series or 82xx/62xx/52xx/42xx/32xx series processors in Socket P. Note: This server supports a Fabric processor in the CPU1 socket; FPGA processors are not supported.

Usage Features:

Control Panel: The front control panel includes a power button, reset button, power LED, NIC2 activity LED, power fail LED, HDD LED, NIC1 activity LED, and an information LED. The information LED indicates overheat, fan failure, power failure, local UID activation, and remote UID activation.
Rack Installation: The system is designed for rackmount installation using quick-release rails. It is crucial to ensure the rack is stable and loaded from bottom to top with heavier components first.
BIOS Setup Utility: The AMIBIOS™ Setup utility allows configuration of various system settings, including CPU, memory, chipset, power management, security, and boot options. Hot keys are used for navigation.
Operating System Installation: Supports Microsoft Windows OS installation. Users must configure RAID settings and install appropriate drivers (RST/RSTe or AHCI) before OS installation.
SuperDoctor® 5: A command-line or web-based interface for Windows and Linux that monitors system health (CPU temperature, voltages, power consumption, fan speed) and provides alerts. It supports local and remote management, including power control and chassis intrusion reset.
IPMI: Intelligent Platform Management Interface provides remote access, monitoring, and management capabilities, with dedicated LAN for IPMI.
UEFI BIOS Recovery: The system supports UEFI BIOS recovery using a USB-attached device (flash drive, CD/DVD ROM/RW) in case of main BIOS image corruption.

Maintenance Features:

Removable Top Cover: The 826BE1C4-R1K23LPB chassis features a removable top cover for easy access to internal components. It is important to operate the server with the cover in place to maintain proper airflow and prevent overheating.
Hot-Swap Hard Drives: Up to 12 hot-swap 3.5" hard drives are supported, allowing replacement without removing power from the system. Each drive carrier has activity and status LED indicators.
Hot-Swap System Fans: Three 8-cm hot-swap chassis fans provide cooling. In case of fan failure, the remaining fans ramp up, and an overheat/fan fail LED illuminates. Fans can be replaced without powering down.
Air Shrouds: Air shrouds concentrate airflow for maximum fan efficiency and do not require screws for installation.
Hot-Plug Power Supplies: Two redundant, hot-plug 1200W power supplies can be replaced without powering down the system. An amber light indicates power off, while a green light indicates normal operation.
Motherboard Battery: The motherboard uses a lithium battery (CR2032) to retain system information. The battery can be replaced by pushing aside a small clamp and inserting a new battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
CMOS Clear: A JBT1 jumper (contact pads) is provided to clear CMOS settings, including passwords. This requires powering down the system, removing the cover, removing the battery, and shorting the pads.
Warning Statements: The manual includes standardized warning statements for AC systems, covering electrical hazards, equipment installation, restricted access areas, battery handling, redundant power supplies, backplane voltage, local/national electrical codes, product disposal, and hot-swap fan safety.
